It's infecting a lot more younger people mainly because they're more active and likely to be unvaccinated. A fair percentage of the people in hospital are young ones, this strain is hitting them harder than the original strain. The less deaths is a sign of the elderly and vulnerable largely being vaccinated. Most of the deaths last year were old people.

Andrews has lost the plot with these latest restrictions, this is all about ego. He wants to get back to Covid zero so he can brag. Plunging Gippsland, Horsham and Mildura back into lockdown because of some cases in Shepparton is not logical or necessary.

If my region has a cluster then sure lock it down but I don't see why cases in northern Victoria should see the Latrobe Valley and east Gippsland suffer the same fate until it's required.

Watching some of the vision of anti lockdown protestors in the city, they can't even decide which direction their protest should be going. Disorganised rabble.

And those in the crowd protesting against lockdown rules (including mask wearing) wearing masks. LOL.

I suspect Victoria is in full suppression mode - trying to keep the flood gate from bursting open. So full lockdown is the only way to do that. If you wait til you have a case, it's too late.

Reports of Victorians with Caravans crossing into NSW at Toc and Barooga.

major checkpoints are only staffed from 6am to 10pm and only check people coming into Vic, not going out.

It's simple, NSW did that so Dan will not because he'd prefer to play politics and follow his own script, not what others have done.

That and Dan hates Regional Victoria and loves to lock us down unnecessarily and has for 18 months. If the virus is spreading in ALP heartland then everyone has to be punished equally...

If they want to, yes. The people in Toc and others along the Murray are far more scared of infected Victorians coming up than infected Sydney people coming down. The people going up with caravans are going to struggle as the beaches on the NSW side are closed for camping and if they camp on the Victorian side, Parks Victoria will be having a chat with them.

Only a week ago Dandrews was being a cocky cnut, bragging and giving unsolicited advice to NSW, playing politics. Hopefully people remember this next election.

Not just mental health but family violence too.

While according to the Victorian Coroner, suicides haven't increased, apparently attempted suicides particularly among teenage girls have increased massively. Calls to helplines also up.

I provide HR support to (among others) Family Violence practitioners. No argument that these lockdowns create seriously work for them.
