I posted the same link earlier and, like Wang, Benalla had an unexpected positive 1 day with negatives either side. Benalla is basically half way between Shep and Wang, Shep has been getting consistent positives since 11 August.

Locking down the entire state because of cases in Shep is just ridiculous, particularly when there's no trace of covid.

We're all victims of Dan's ego and irresponsible dickheads.

It was undoubtedly true that the Government had "a sewerage test that has detected COVID in the Northeast" - Benalla returned an unexpected positive result on 5 August. What's it - about half an hour away from Wangaratta?

Does it really matter if he mis-spoke? I assume the decision was taken in circumstances of some urgency - and you'd rather they erred on the side of being cautious. Plainly, I'm now in lockdown in Portarlington again because of what's happening in Shepparton. They've been getting positive wastewater results there since 11 August - perhaps if they'd kept the north and north east locked down for a couple of weeks, instead of just 4 days, the rest of the regions might not be having to deal with this, now.

He used bullshit lies to sell his unneccasry lockdown and when it was found out he had no choice but to release regional from lockdown. Such urgency, it had been a week since the last positive was found, yet he lied and said there had been another positive detection a day or 2 beforehand, which was a blatant lie, not misspeaking.

If we were to lockdown on wastewater results then realistically everyone should have been locked down a week earlier than they were when there was zero covid cases in the community. We'd have also had a lot more regional lockdowns because of it, so at some point you have to question their accuracy given how often they detect it in regional locations and zero cases are ever found.

Realistically these one off positives surrounded by negatives in towns on the Hume are probably a truckie passing through using the rest stops.

Unfortunately because Gladys uses localised lockdowns, Dan never will. So much like all of regional Victoria was screwed by Geelong last year and kept in lockdown and harsher restrictions than necessary because Geelong had an outbreak far worse than many Melbourne suburbs, Geelong is locked down because of a much smaller outbreak in Shep.

The number of COVID-positive patients in Victorian hospitals on Sunday grew to 27, with one child aged under five currently receiving care.

The full breakdown of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 includes four people aged in their 20s and 30s, 12 aged in their 40s, three aged in their 50s, one aged in their 60s, and two aged over 70.

Of those, nine were not vaccinated and ineligible for the vaccine; 18 were not vaccinated but eligible. None of the cases in hospital had been either partially or fully vaccinated.

They've really got to fix that, and fast.

Lots of traffic travels along the GV highway. People would be surprised at the number of trucks that travel etc. that way.

Could have come from anywhere - someone stopping at Kalkallo, Wallan, Seymour to/from Melbourne. People still have to come to Melbourne for work, medical reasons.
Or from NSW. Who knows.
It only takes one asymptomatic person to be out and about to spread it.

Since the Nagambie bypass opened, it's basically freeway all the way to just before Kialla, plenty of people up and back usually.
