After the year they have had, i am sure the last thing ANY AFL players would want to do is sit back and read what a bunch of armchair critics think.
You know how players have to lock up their phones during games? It’s to keep them off Nicks

We are so bereft of midfielders its very worrying.
I cannot see how we could let go of Pendles Sidebottom and/or Adams for the little return we would get for them. So if you get a second rounder for Pendles.....who are you going to recruit with that second rounder that will replace all that experience, hard body, leadership and soul. Im not saying we should demand or get more than that..
its a simple matter of Pendles being worth way more to us staying than what we would get to for him. The same applies to Sidey and Adams.

The situation is compounded by the fact we dont have many quality midfielders that could step up otherwise you could make an argument for letting other players off the leash to step up and develop. You cant ask a second year talent to do that.

Its a well known fact that there is a huge gap between the oldies and the young ones. Who is there ?? De goey , Crisp, maybe Elliott???...geez if one of them got injured youre left with sweet fa.

So I would keep Pendles Adams and Sidey to teach lead and protect because a couple second or third rounders will get us way less than what we have already.

I would trade Sier, Cox and maybe one other ( I wouldnt trade Thomas as he is needed to put pressure on the young ones getting a game and we would get nothing for him anyway)
We are far better off keeping players instead of getting nothing in return and instilling a belief in the squad that Collingwood has everything we need right here, albeit we arent in any premiership window.

We dont have many choices unless we can get free agents in but that depends on our salary cap.
The other possibility is that we can get first round picks or good player trades for Pendles Sidey and / or Tay but cant see that happening.

I hesitate to comment because it's not his fault people see what they want to see and force it on players. Adams is not captain material for no fault of his own; however, the fact is he cannot be relied upon to beat his man in big games, which is a prerequisite for captain.

Unfortunately, those who live in 70,000 BCE and find teeth baring a measure of captaincy will not persuaded otherwise because he does try damned hard. No one is questioning his endeavour, but you can't choose someone on the basis of their physicality to be captain when they get pummelled by the bigger beasts and then have iffy disposal on top of that.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

It's a difficult situation. Adam's is a natural leader and would likely be a fine captain, but a couple of clear deficits make this situation untenable.

Adam's however we must keep. Need some quality around him and he will be ok. the youngsters need him more than they need pendles.

Pendles, love him, but I don't know u could say he has been a great captain to be honest. Hazard a guess that having Adam's by your side as a youngster makes u feel safer and stronger than pendles. Just my opinion...

Captain, we have no clear choice.

Adams is an inside clearance machine.
If not for him in the last qtr we would not have beat Melbourne.
That he is also getting the ball on the outside for his disposal to be questioned talks to our lack of midfield depth. The kids we recruited PLUS Daicos will take that role.
The LAST thing we need is to lose big bodied senior players while we are trying to develop smaller bodied kids - can even understand why its a conversation

My memory is fading a bit but I seem to remember a captain of our club called Tony Shaw who couldn’t kick. I can’t remember any of our supporters saying at the time he shouldn’t be the captain and we should trade him. If we had prior to 1990 we wouldn’t have seem him appear on the dais collecting the Norm Smith metal at the end of the 1990 GF. Which reminds me. Taylor Adams was leading the Norm Smith medal at 3/4 time in the 2018 GF.

Well Shaw certainly wasn't a penetrating kick, but I don't recalling him missing many targets by hand or foot either.

And where do we find the voting tallies for the Norm Smith medal, for any given year?

If Tony Shaw was in the draft, at what round would he get drafted, if at all?

The game has changed.

Couldn't think of a more natural fit for Taylor Adam's position than Callum Brown. Surely he has to play now.
