I think the strategy of scaring the whole of NSW witless by having 5,000 cases a week really helps incentivise. If you know your Government couldn’t care less and is quite happy to kill you, it makes the decision that little bit easier.

And the fact that those that are dying in the current outbreak are mostly the unvaccinated. Evidence that vaccination works.

Interesting that the latest Qantas ad has triggered a bigger response from people than any of the advertising by any level of government. All the govt ads have been pretty lame.
I've uploaded the Covid cert to Quantas, that's 1000 ff points and into the drawer for the $85k worth of holidays.

If there's lockdowns at 80% vaccination, I don't think people will comply.

It's time to come up with a plan to open up and stay open.
id expect that masks in shopping centres etc will stay for a while, a long long while, same as wipes and checking in. and if your not vaccinated yes, less freedom,

well after getting up 1.5 hours earlier than usual, logging on at 5 to 7, at 10.10am my eldest finally got a Pfizer booking for 9 September! i tried our doctor and various other places, and the best i could do was october. 2 weeks away thats ok. Junior will wait til she finishes placement,

Red headed chick was going to try and get a booking today.
She has a mid trimester exam today, so probably not able to get online or phone until later.

She is living on campus at Deakin Uni Waurn Ponds, so will try to get something in Geelong. Otherwise will wait until the next batch is announced.

What a debacle Victoria is.

Why open it up to all 16-39 and then the next day say they need all Year 12 student vaccinated by October 5?

Why didn't they start with Year 12 first and then open it up to 16 - 39? How can student get vaccinated before October 5 exams?

They are, but for accuracy you need to compare locally acquired cases, not total. NSW had 2500 more cases in Hotel Quarantine than Vic has as when Vic's was open NSW still bought in double the people.

The key metric will be deaths.
over 800 people died from Covid in Victoria last year, NSW is up to 130 total, 76 since this outbreak started.

Shame Victoria tried to run a vaccine booking system using a Vic 20 connected to a 33.6Kbs dial up modem.

Some good news.

11 million Australians have had at least one dose of the vaccine.

25% of the entire Australian population is now fully vaccinated.

What I was always amazed about was when Victoria was running wild, testing still finished at 5pm, yet I think NSW started running some all night if they had to.

Victoria hit their limit at about 50,000 daily tests, NSW running triple that.
