Honestly the lack of perspective from some of you and the constant whinging is mind blowing.
Honestly it shouldn't be that hard to understand.
We're in the midst of a world pandemic and dealing with an enemy that is invisible, silent and odourless.
It's bloody difficult and dangerous work.

I haven't kept up with the polling on this, but is there any evidence that Andrews' policies are actually broadly unpopular? The opposition tend to be very noisy, but there seem to be a lot of people quietly in favour.Dark Beanie wrote:Labor will get back in because the Liberals are ineffectual.stui magpie wrote:^
Yeah well Dan had a serious chubby in his Chinos not long back when he was lecturing Gladys about using a "Ring of Steel" and bragging about how he'd personally conquered Delta twice. Now he's lecturing at people who don't watch his press conferences telling them they're selfish.
If this clown gets re-elected (and it's entirely probable given the rusted on stupids) watch the population (and collective IQ) decrease.
If there was a decent opposition it would be a different story.

Not sure the families of the over 800 dead would agree there.think positive wrote:compare him to gladyse right now! ill take Dan anyday!eddiesmith wrote:It's funny how the Cult of Dan always looks overseas, never want to compare him to other premiers in Australia, why is that?swoop42 wrote:The 132,000 extra dead in the UK and their families wouldn't complain about Dan and his lock down record.

gees do you ever do anything other than winge?
But sure NSW is so much worse than Victoria right, both in lockdown indefinitely, but in NSW if you're vaccinated you'd be looking forward to some freedoms. What is there to look forward to in Victoria?
You get so hung up on case numbers when in reality if you live in both states, you'd have more freedoms and more hope in NSW than Victoria. But you've become so ingrained that lockdowns are good that you think it'd be horrible to think about getting more freedoms whilst cases are about.
I remember when it was about protecting health system, then protecting the vulnerable, now its getting to zero cases?
But I do love how you think Swoops post was so great about how hard it is to stop, yet constantly take potshots at Gladys over her handling of the crisis, hypocrite.

We have 340 teenagers admitted to hospital a week in Victoria due to mental health issues, way more than the number of hospitalisations from COVID.think positive wrote:needs those big hands clapping, couldnt agree more!swoop42 wrote:The 132,000 extra dead in the UK and their families wouldn't complain about Dan and his lock down record.

"Damon Johnston reports on Saturday that a secret report to the Andrews government shows more than 340 teenagers a week have been admitted to hospital suffering mental health emergencies in Victoria. The six-week average to May 30 is a 57 per cent increase on the corresponding period last year. The 16-page report reveals an average of 156 teens a week were rushed to hospital after self-harming and suffering suicidal thoughts, an 88 per cent increase on last year. The most serious cases, where teens required resuscitation and emergency treatment, surged to a six-weekly average of 37.3 cases to the end of May, an 83 per cent rise on last year and a 162 per cent increase on 2019."

How can he not get re-elected when you look at the opposition? I know you say we vote out, rather than vote in, politicians but there still needs to be an opposition that isn't "less than useless".stui magpie wrote: If this clown gets re-elected (and it's entirely probable given the rusted on stupids) watch the population (and collective IQ) decrease.
kill for collingwood!
The millions of Europeans that haven't died - and probably the bulk of those related to ones who have died - would definitely complain and would not trade places with us. This is not just about people dying from covid.swoop42 wrote:The 132,000 extra dead in the UK and their families wouldn't complain about Dan and his lock down record.

Agree, this also applies to the Federal government I can't see how the ALP get in even though the Coalition Government is woeful the opposition is hardly inspiring.roar wrote:How can he not get re-elected when you look at the opposition? Some people don't like the winging, fair enough. I can't cop people saying that Dan has done a good job.
Dan is clearly the worst performed Premier in regard to Covid in the country. Yes, he managed to get the state back to zero cases after locking the state down for months and stopping international arrivals. No other state until now in NSW let it get out of hand in the first place. Melbourne is the second most locked down jurisdiction in the world and has 82% of the Australian Covid Deaths. No other state in Australia has had to endure what we have had to.
Anyone who wants to defend him answer this question. If you could have lived and worked in any city in Australia during 2020, would you have chosen Melbourne?
As far as Gladys and NSW goes, yep, she fcucked up but had every right to try to do it her way, she had the runs on the board. Even now it's supposedly out of control, she's running a different strategy.
When wild and uncontrolled, the Delta variant as a reproduction number of between 5 and 9, meaning each person who gets it infects between 5 and 9 people. NSW has it at around 1.3. You need to get that number below 1 for the case number to start going down, but that's not her aim, she's now in containment mode, stopping it from going wild, and focusing on Vaccinations. vaccinations clearly work when you compare case numbers and death rates between NSW and Victoria. Once enough people are vaccinated, you start rolling back restrictions.

https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/healt ... a0391b0653Attempted suicide rates among Victorian teenagers have skyrocketed by 184 per cent in the past six months.
Disturbing new data from the Kids Helpline revealed the shocking statistic after Victoria was plunged into its fourth major Covid-19 lockdown in the past 12 months.
Teenagers aged 13-18 were the most at risk, accounting for 75 per cent of the total crisis interventions from December 1, 2020, to May 31, 2021.
