In Victoria:
Reported yesterday: 450 new local cases and 0 cases acquired overseas.
- 39,148 vaccines administered
- 42,765 test results received
Of the 450 local cases, 75 have so far been linked to known cases and outbreaks. Further case information will be provided this morning.

In NSW, they've reported 1,599 locally-acquired cases. There were 8 deaths.
Four new cases were acquired overseas in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, and 30 previously reported cases have been excluded following further investigation. The total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic is 42,000.
There have been 170 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since 16 June 2021, and 226 in total since the start of the pandemic.
There have been 36,374 locally acquired cases reported since 16 June 2021, when the first case in this outbreak was reported.

There are currently 1,164 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 221 people in intensive care, 94 of whom require ventilation.

Vic: Of the cases hospitalised yesterday, 89% were not fully vaccinated
The other 11% of cases had a single dose.

"Not a single case that was hospitalised yesterday was fully vaccinated," says Mr Foley.

There are 143 people in hospital, up 17 from yesterday and 34 are in the ICU. There are 26 people on a ventilator.
Of the active cases in the state, young people are being disproportionately affected says Mr Foley.

407 aged 9 and under
449 aged from 10-19
697 in their 20s
485 in their 30s
Victoria: Cases by suburb
Deputy Secretary Kate Matson gave a case breakdown suburb by suburb.

More than 70 per cent of today's cases are in the northern suburbs:

166 in Hume
87 in Moreland
41 in Whittlesea.
Western suburbs continue to see steady growth:

25 in Wyndham
20 in Brimbank
16 in Hobsons Bay
Victoria is also seeing spread around to the eastern suburbs and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne:

26 cases today are in the south-east, including 6 in Greater Dandenong.

For those interested in the records, Australia broke the 2,000 new cases per day barrier for the first time ever, today - 2,076.
