Ex-Channel 9 boss Jeff Browne is inching closer to a take over as Collingwood president.
Browne has been in direct negotiations with current Pies boss Mark Korda, who is under increasing pressure to navigate a graceful exit from the Holden Centre.
The club’s bitter boardroom stoush could come to a head at a board meeting on Tuesday night.

Ok, can somebody explain to me why we have to have a negotiated transfer of power from Mark Korda to Jeff Browne as president? And why certain present members of the board are transferring to Jeff Browne's ticket? Why can't there be a spill of positions at the December AGM where the members vote on a new board and from the newly elected board members, they vote on who their president will be?

Internal negotiations are easier to negotiate for one's self-preservation and personal tenure. It appears that accountability to the Members has been lost along the way. This move defies the original intent of the Board spill.MatthewBoydFanClub wrote:Ok, can somebody explain to me why we have to have a negotiated transfer of power from Mark Korda to Jeff Browne as president? Members can't be trusted. Could end up with a completely dysfunctional board comprising disparate single issue individuals devoid of the necessary skills. No collaboration. Set the club back years.MatthewBoydFanClub wrote:Ok, can somebody explain to me why we have to have a negotiated transfer of power from Mark Korda to Jeff Browne as president? And:
Malthouse: Why Collingwood can rebound quickly under Craig McRae
Scott Pendlebury has been a great Collingwood captain, but he has another priority in 2022, says Mick Malthouse. And he has an ideal candidate to take over as skipper.
