Great article on Browne and the board. My sentiments one hundred percent.

Long winded article but it summarizes my feelings as well. I would have much preferred Peter Murphy to Mark Korda as well but it is what it is. Politics interferes with the running of the club and now we get outsiders calling the shots. I really don’t think O’Donell and Wilson were bad choices. I want the best people for the job. However you need to follow due process and for too long Eddie MaGuire had his stamp over everything and the proper processes weren’t being followed. None of this would have happened if there had been regular elections for new board members like every other AFL club.

If anyone disagreed with who Eddie wanted he would go over to you and sweet talk you and tell you how un-Collingwood it was to rock the boat. If that’s what you mean by members ratifying Eddie’s choice of who he wanted on the board, you and I have a different interpretation of what it means.jackcass wrote:Pisses me off no end the constant sooking about elections. Every appointment to the board is ratified by voting members. If those members wanted an actual election then these board appointees wouldn’t be running unopposed. Now it’s an issue. F$&k me! Do nothing then complain nothing gets done.
Jeez he writes a lot of words to say so little. Nevertheless, I broadly agree with him. Mainly I think it is disrespectful of Browne to demand the Presidency, without putting forward a platform, and before being elected to the Board. This elitist born-to-rule mentality is delusional and potentially destructive.derkd wrote:Great article on Browne and the board. My sentiments one hundred percent.

No, it isn't semantics. There are people who had been appointed unlawfully to the Board, yet the unlawfulness of the appointment will never be considered (still less corrected) by the Members.jackcass wrote:Semantics. Ratified…. Elected… same same.
