Looks like the Round 6 game against Weagles has been moved to Perth.

Went to redeem tickets and nothing on Ticketek site.
Check Ticketmaster and tickets being sold as a home game for Weagles in Perth on Saturday at 12.10pm.

So Pies have to do 2 long trips in a row. Definitely favours Weagles now.

Pretty poor of Collingwood not to notify members immediately of this change of venue. You would think that the team would know before anyone & contact the members immediately. We must now get another home game since WE are taking this one off us!

Nothing on the AFLW website or social media.
Game is no longer listed on Ticketmaster website.

Assume AFLW is still trying to finalise match, taking into account WA govt. rules. Would have to get an exemption for teams to play in WA without quarantine I believe.

But tix go on sale tomorrow according to Ticketmaster. They wouldn't be selling tix if the match wasn't finalized? It's still very poor communication from all involved really. Wouldn't be surprised if they change it back again to be honest.

Why are footballers exempt from the WA travel ban?

Not a good look for McGowan and the WA government.

pies v eagles

Can someone tell me WHY we are playing in Perth?
Is it because the eagle fly out , they won't be let back in to WA?
If so, stuff the govt. hey should just forfeit..
Everything about this is wrong..
Sports people getting favouritism over locals...

Having a look a the fixture as it stands today, Freo does not play another game outside WA until finals. Freo has played an extra game, so will get a break last round before finals. Definite advantage for them.

Weagles play at home until last round when they are scheduled to play North (home game for North). Weagles unlikely to play finals, so if they have to travel for final round won't have any effect (footy wise) if they have to quarantine upon return.

I also think that the AFL has pushed for this as a test run for the men. WA govt. will be desperate to have the AFL play in Perth so bent their own rules to have AFLW games.
