A Saudi Arabian-backed Β£305m takeover of Newcastle United was completed yesterday.
The takeover brings to an end Mike Ashley's 14-year spell as Newcastle United owner.
PIF have assets of Β£250bn, making Newcastle United one of the richest clubs in the world.
Just like Collingwood, NUFC were formed in 1892, wear black & white stripes and are nicknamed the Magpies.
Exciting times ahead (hopefully)!

They won 15 games in the 2013/2014 season, but your point still stands, they have been absolutely shocking in recent years. Apart from one decent season with Alan Pardew the Mike Ashley reign has been abysmal. I'm hopeful that the new owners will turn the clubs fortunes around and hopefully be able to win the club some honours in the future.Skids wrote:Been very poor performers for many years.
Still haven't registered a win this season.
Last time they won more than 12 games in an EPL season was 2012.

Plenty to be excited about for Newcastle fans. Will be a contender in the years to come.
I know there's elation that Ashley is gone, but is there any concern that the Saudis have taken over?

Finally had a win and now 3 points behind Watford who are out of relegation zone.
It'll still be tough because I can't see who's going to fall into the relegation zone? Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leeds, Southampton have probably all done enough, Everton should stay safe and Watford could slide.
Burnley and Norwich will stay in the bottom 3 I think.
Newcastles draw with Norwich very costly. But, like Collingwood in 2021, have been in most games without being spectacular. The win against Burnley was very important. Up next is Leicester, Liverpool, Man C and Man U before an easier run against Everton, Southampton, Watford and Leeds.
They'll need to cause an upset somewhere in the next four games, but also beat teams like Watford and Everton if they want to stay in the Premier League.

Have been killing it of late!
Sitting 5th on the 10 game 'form ladder' with 5 wins, 3 draws & 2 losses.
This weeks game against Southampton should be worth watching.
Newcastle paying $3.70 will be where I'll have a dabble with some of the 'money for jam' I collect on the draw in the cricket. How the draw was ever 2/1 will be a question some bookies are asking their market framers I reckon.

Been the 3rd best performing team since the start of the new year behind only Liverpool and Manchester City.Skids wrote:Have been killing it of late!

The investment in January has made a big difference.
