Many decades ago when he played for Footescray, he was one of the players that was in the mixed up Scanlens football cards fiasco. His name was under the headshot of some other player with blonde curly hair from memory. My older bro. had most of the collection and I was oblivious to the mix up. For years I couldn't work out how Freddie Cook had transformed from this curly headed chap to what we all know he looked like.

I had the pleasure of working at an Albert Park property were he lived in the late '80's. Very likable chap, bit edgy, possibly due to the greenery in his rear courtyard.

RIP Freddie.

Yes. 52 is young. But he smoked all his adult life. So that may have something to do with it.

Vale Shinzo Abe ~ assassinated

Post by Jezza »

Former Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe has been assassinated.

Very sad day for the people of Japan, and a close friend and ally to Australia.

RIP.

A magnificent voice. I can't believe it has been silenced.

Here she is giving Paul Simon's career its kick-start:

Finally, if I may, my three personal favourites - some of the best backing singing ever recorded by an Australian - her ability to find a perfect harmony line and hit it like a bell was always jaw-dropping and still gives me shivers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR1zvvysdB8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NZFoa4onB4

She was awesome, will never forget our school class outing to see Grease in grade 6. I think every boy in our class fell in love with her that day.

RIP Olivia :(

Vale. Never liked her music much but she did good work for breast cancer awareness. Her brother was a fine medical doctor and was very good to a close friend of mine many years ago.
