^I'd be hopeful we can convince Lynch to come to the club he supported for a crack at success. I don't think we can afford to pay more than $1m a season for him given we are already close to paying our salary cap and Moore and De Goey will want an upgrade in pay to remain.

I think in order to have a crack at a flag that we have to convince some of our players to accept pay below what they may command in a free and open market. Just as Geelong and Hawthorn have done.

We probably can't pay Lynch $1.25m+ a season and retain our young talent and established stars like Pendles, Treloar, Sidebottom, Howe, Grundy etc
One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership

Updated to welcome back Dayne Beams and add Jordan Roughhead as a previous squad member.
That's 14 players of that calibre whom are the Core of our Best 22 for 2019+.
I view the recruiting of Roughhead will prove a material foundation for us consolidating a top 4 spot in 2019. Beams is cream.

Current List :
B: Tom Langdon Jordan Roughhead (squad only) Brayden Maynard (squad only)
HB: Jeremy Howe Darcy Moore Jack Crisp (squad only)
C: Tom Phillips Dayne Beams
HF:
F: Jaidyn Stephenson Jordan De Goey Jamie Elliott
R: Brodie Grundy Adam Treloar Steele Sidebottom
I/C:

Sier the heir aparent to make the squad / final AAU22 for 2019.

If we could find 2-3 more from Quaynor, Kelly, Brown x 2, Daicos x 2, Murphy, Appleby or Wills in the next 2 years, a high bar will be maintained in order to be included in our starting 22 from our U25 squad.
Next 5 years looking very promising.

This despite having the 2nd most experienced list in the competition, at 78.9 games. Hawthorn top this at 80.40. There's daylight to Adelaide at 3rd with 71.40. Gold Coast 18th at 50.20.

^ Yep, absoluted delighted for young Daics. He really added muscle over the last pre-season and I think that helped him enormously. Hope he can continue his upward trajectory :)

^^^ I think we're talking about Josh here, not brother Nick...

While the prediction of Nick rising to 20 under 22 status will prove correct, I don't know if that was the intent.

Four Pies named in 22Under22 squad

Post by Presti35 »

https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/1194085/four-pies-named-in-22under22-squad

Nathan Murphy, Isaac Quaynor, Nick Daicos and Jack Ginnivan have been recognised among the best young talent in the league, with all four named in the AFLPA 22Under22 Squad of 40.
The final team will be decided,by fans, with voting on the 22Under22 site open from August 10 and closing on August 17.

Voted by fans is a worry. Will Ginnivan get a vote?

Ollie Henry very stiff to miss out.

I know he's been out of the side for the last few weeks, but he's still our 3rd equal highest goal kicker this season.

What a season by Nathan Murphy and what a turn around he has managed to achieve.

And potentially still miss out on the under 22 team because Collingwood haters wouldn’t vote for him
