Also, if I wanted 50 useless possessions I'd go to an antique shop.
Op shop.
"That will be 50 useless possessions for $18,659,288.20. We hope you enjoyed shopping at Queen Victoria Antiques. Your Bentley is this way, sir."

Sorry, David; couldn't resist ;)

Yes. Without a doubt.
Most likely a 7 year contract at $500,000 a year.

^ agree. Happy with the current power brokers playing hardball with these kids. Hasn’t really done anything. Was a little bit of hype for a while but showed he is not mentally there yet. Doesn’t do the hard things though I have said before this kid could be anything once he clicks. I say keep him but not at all costs. Probably worth more than his original draft pick so Geelongs number 1 pick and maybe some exchanges in later rounds or off to the draft with you!

With the current Afl average at $372,000 approx. paying Henry 500k
($128k over current average) with player payments increasing in next 2 yrs I don’t think that’s a ridiculous amount to pay him. Everyone agrees he has huge potential & definitely has game winning ability. But not for 7 yrs.

IF he goes to Handbags, I will be bloody spewing, an awesome young talent, and proves those sleepy hollow pricks dont have a salary cap, and cook the books, they bloody must be, surely.

Offer Geelong our first pick for Jack Henry.

He is the answer to our fullback problem. And would team up greatly with Moore in defence.

Otherwise I can see Oliver becoming the next Nick Davis. And that would anger me.

Turn the tables and go after Jack, I'm telling you, this is the way.

^There's a player who'd dropped from memory (along with what I had for breakfast and the need to put on a second shoe). Nice reference! (Nick Davis, not Henry!).

It's annoying that for his first contract negotiation, he and his manager are haggling! Imagine come 2026 when he is in his prime.

Henry came to us with the pick we traded in for Treloar.

Knowing what he can become has certainly softened that debacle RE: Treloar. It would suck if Oli was to leave now.

Don't let him go Pies.

If he wants out then let him try his luck in the draft and see how he likes playing for Adelaide.

You have to let that go. Others have the same misplaced sentiment, as understandable as it is, and are using it against Grundy.

These are professional athletes doing this in lieu of another career, who have already jumped through incredible hoops to get this far and are deeply versed in professional footballer speak. They are not Collingwood owned and have often never even grown up barracking for us, though even that doesn't matter where one's livelihood and future is concerned.

It is as it is. We don't expect anyone else including ourselves to stay in their jobs for a worse package in any other context on earth.

Our problem is that we have never been a destination club, hence we can't get people to stay slightly unders or attract the likes of Jeremy Cameron. That means haggling from anyone bites that bit more because we don't have a queue of replacements wanting in. Wrighty and McRae are slowly turning that ship, though.
