SOS think the Roos should walk Henry to the PSD. Makes sense, and actually not a bad play by North if they do this....how much do you want him Geelong? Stump up or he walks.

I think Collingwood will be happy with Geelong's future first, and I think it is about the mark...either we get back roughly what we paid for him (if Geelong have another good season) or we turn it into a big win if Geelong fall away....not without a chance.


Maybe Geelong sweeten it with pick.38 this year. Gives us more ammo to move up the board or get one of the deals done.


Geelong dont have pick 7 as it stands....and common sense say Henry isn't worth a top 10 pick...the kid has tallent..he isn't an out and out gun.

Points calculator tells me they get Ollie Henry and 703 points, we get 2109 points back - a net gain of ~1400 which is actually somewhere between pick 9 and 10 in equivalent points terms.

Could we then use #38 on Frampton or Mitchell?

Well once Grundy is done, we'll shift our focus to the pieces we want to bring in.

But who do the Cats trade in first? Bowes, Bruhn, or Henry? (Worth noting that Hopper and Grundy said no to them).

Depending what pick/player the Cats will actually trade in return, I think this will be done near the end, or not at all. If we somehow got pick 7, then go for it. Then we may have a chance to trade that pick too. Our first two picks are currently pick 16 and 41.

So can we afford to wait for their other deals to be done first? Or are we better off waiting/holding out?

They are very keen on Jhye Clark. Classy Falcons midfielder expected to go around pick 7. It’s going to be an interesting time once they officially have pick 7 ( pick 8 on the night ) because the moment they get it, the Pies and Giants are going to immediately focus on it as long as the Cats want to pursue Henry or Bruhn.
Wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up with their first rounder and the Giants with their future first rounder. That way the Cats keep pick 7 in the process.

Apparently he was offered a new 1 year contract on more cash and declined, so it's not about money.

There's a fine balance to be walked here between wanting appropriate compensation, pushing back hard enough to make it clear we aren't push overs and pushing back too far and sending him to the draft.

IMHO doing the latter sends the message to the players that we don't care about them as people, just commodities

If we ger pick 27 for Grundy I'd ask for pick 7 & give them 27 & Henry.

They can get their man in 2 years when he's ready to come home.
