They'll take it to the draft most likely or possibly look to deal with GWS or Sydney and exchange it for two 1st round selections.

Potentially they could even look to trade pick 7 for Bruhn and GWS pick 12 if they wanted to retain their future 1st.
We hold the cards, not them. Don’t deal on Henry and let him play out the his one year contract offer with us. Worry about it at the end of the season next year. Don’t sweat bullets when we don’t need to.

A 2nd or 3rd round pick for Jack should satisfy everyone

They’re not giving up pick 7, they want a Geelong local kid who’s a midfield gun and will go top 10

my sources have confirmed this is a tactical ploy to get his name into the news and into the minds of the coaching/selection committee to get him more game time in the seniors.
no actual trade to Geelong will ever take place.

There's a fine balance to be walked here between wanting appropriate compensation, pushing back hard enough to make it clear we aren't push overs and pushing back too far and sending him to the draft.

IMHO doing the latter sends the message to the players that we don't care about them as people, just commodities
i disagree, we have put two years into him, and offered a reasonable contract, id reckon the players would be pissed off with his attitude right now, not the clubs.

clearly, if he really wants Geelong, and they really want him, playing hardball is the way to go. whats he worth to them? im also sick of the fricken cats amazingly being able to squeeze in all this banner players.

First round draft who has with 2years under his belt & improved a lot in second year. He’s upside is huge. Forget his lack of pressure ( he didn’t want to be at Collingwood). This kid is going to be a gun.
Deal should be 1st rounder + 2nd rounder. Collingwood sends Henry & 3rd rounder back.
Otherwise walk to the roos. Nothing to do with treating players as pple or commodities. This is big business now.

He says “he’ll get the best out of himself in the right environment”, with that being closer to Geelong.
Is Arden st close to Geelong??
