i believe its in the AFL laws still that he has to sign before entering any of the drafts that he must honor the club that drafted him for 2 years minimum or face that same timeframe completely out of the AFL. (and that club loses its pick afaik)
So his options:
Play for Collingwood and ask for a trade next year
Enter PSD and end up at GWS or North etc for 2 years(clubs wont pass him up before he gets to geelongs pick 25)
Enter PSD and get drafted and refused to sign contract and play no AFL level for 2 years
Leave Collingwood and not register for PSD, wait a year and register for 2023 draft.. (minimum 1 year delisted for Mid Season Draft so he cannot get to geelong in 2023 that way either)
Let me know if im missing anything...but collingwood hold more cards then him and its designed this way so clubs don't get screwed by spoiled brat's and their cawky Managers.

I think you’re on the money

This is a question I would also like to know.
If it’s a PSD only then a number of clubs will take the punt on him.
If it’s ok for National draft, the Cats will select him with pick 25. No other club will use a top 25 pick on him. Hope the Pies recruiting team remembers this the next time Geelong wants to do a deal. You might have won the fight this time Geelong, but you won’t win the war!
Yes AFL players can nominate for the draft. several players over the years have gone to other clubs in the 50-60's
Amon Buchannan was redrafted by the Swans in the same year...nobody else wanted him and they couldnt find anyone else better..weird scenario back then in the 2003 national draft.
So tell fricken Ollie if the cats really want and value you, then tell em to pay up. Gees at this rate I’ll boo him even if he’s in black and white! Little ungrateful turd
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

Many thanks for this post. I'm in more than 2 minds about this.
Want him to stay. But if he walks, I hope ends up in Perth. But I'm starting to think we should look at taking 25 and 33. They are not that bad picks are they? Especially if they can be ontraded/upgraded elsewhere?
The other think that urks me about this is that when Collingwood traded Treloar to the Bulldogs, the pick traded in ended up being Oliver Henry. Which was a bit of a shining light. But now he wants out.
Actually doing the math on it all; Sam Weideman and Griffin Logue were the players taken by the picks we traded out for Treloar (GWS) and Henry was taken by the pick traded in for Treloar (Dogs). And now it seems Logue, Weideman and Henry will all be traded in 2022.

He's been at Collingwood for 2 years and fulfilled his initial contract.
He can nominate for either draft and put a price on his head is my understanding.

Pick 7 for Henry and 16 or PSD.
No they aren't.
Pick 33 should secure Mitchell.
Pick 25 / 27 could secure a future 2nd round selection covering the cost of the Hill trade.
Any of those 25, 27 and 33 picks could be used in an effort to move up this years draft board be it in the first or second rounds.
I can understand if the club lets him walk for pick 25 but if we can force Geelong to trade some flexible KP depth in Esava for 33 I'd consider that a small win.
If we could obtain 25 and 33 for Henry would Hawthorn entertain......
16, 25, 27, 33 (41 if we couldn't secure 33)
for
6, 48, Mitchell
Pick 6 welcome to Collingwood Jyhe Clark.
Trumping Geelong for Clark (assuming Hine rates him worthy of 6) would make this whole affair worthwhile.
Failing that if Hawthorn wont deal Mitchell for something other than 27 and/or we won't reconsider trading for Fiorini if Henry gets traded/walks out would we turn our attention to Cooper Stephens and 25 for Henry?
Another option?
27, 41, 50 for 24, Mitchell (we take on all his salary)
We redraft Henry at 24 and watch Mackie slump in his chair. Again, that would make this whole affair worthwhile.
Stuff the spoiled brat Henry, hold fast Wright, give the ageing cheating Cats nothing, send him to the draft, let some deadbeat team like Norf grab him, far rather that, than going to the Sleepy Hollow cheats, stuff them, and him.
