I think the list is looking pretty good. How many list cloggers would you say are there?Haff wrote:List clogging status now.

Its funny how 12 months can be a long time in footy.
I am sure Murphy was considered by many to be a clogger but he showed that with a good run with injury and a role to play, he was an important player.
My suspicion is that Ruscoe will be playing his last year next year. With Murphy coming on and Charlie Dean in challenging for a spot, he will get edged out.
Wilson also seems like he is in the same boat.
But hey a lot happens in 12 months...

Definitely a lot happening over the next 12 months.
If you are one of the above-mentioned players not getting a game in 2023, I bid ye farewell.
By December 2023 we will have had:
22 AFL Delisted Player Free Agency Period
22 AFL DRAFT
23 MID SEASON DRAFT
23 AFL Restricted and Unrestricted Free Agency
23 AFL Delisted Player Free Agency
23 AFL DRAFT
Thats a lot of opportunities to find your replacement.

How many other list cloggers do we have?
Do you think Will could become a solid role player?
I'm just thinking we've made some good moves this offseason. Is it Wills potential to be able to play KPP that has saved him over other cloggers like Ty Brown, Call Brown, Poulter, etc.
He's 22 and now has one more season to show us that he can be an important player for us going forward. There has been a few set backs/excuses, but I guess it's in his hands to perform in 2023.

A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned!
^would be a good exercise to go through the list but I agree, we've got rid of a few list cloggers in the Browns etc.
Theres probably another category in project players (or kids are in that category).

I'd be surprised if we delisted Kelly. We need some coverage in case Murph has to retire. Dean is young and has played bugger all footy in the last year or two. Frampton has obvious limitations. Kelly is about the same size as Murph (and Dean) and has the athleticism and can possibly learn the Key Back role that Murph plays so well.
Side by side.

In my football supporting life, when I see a tall who has been on our list a few years, who is still overlooked when the firsts desperately need a replacement tall:
"Just maybe what he needs is more time to mature."
I cannot recall a single time when I have been right.
In Kelly's case, the writing was on the wall when I saw him on the wing in the Ressies and an AFL 'reject' playing FB.
But, it is not official yet. Maybe I'm still wrong again, lol
