Yep was at the match.

pies never got going.

Very stop start.

Good passages of play let down with turnovers on our half forward line.

Bombers had a heap of inside 50s

Never really got down our end much.

Scrappy match and was not good viewing.

Was at Port melbourne last night which was a much better game tho.

I think we need to re set and move on.

Final score:

Pies 8.11.59 defeated Darebin 5.3.33

Goals: Zander, Morris, Bates, King, Kane, James, Tweddle-O'Donnell, DeMateo

Top disposals: Bates 33, Zander 21, Bunker 17

Apart from the first quarter, the Pies were outworked at ground level. Darebin were able to run and spread better than the Pies.

Despite 36 inside 50s to Darebins 14, the Pies could not capitalise, bombing the ball in to a contest rather than running the ball in. Some of the disposal into the forward 50 in particular was a bit ordinary.

Also kicking 1.6 in the 2nd quarter did not help.

A couple of Darebins goals in the final qtr came from snap kicks from a forward stoppage and on another day may not have gone through but they got the opportunity for goals from hard work further up the ground.

Pies will retain a spot in the top 6 but will need to improve a lot if they want to play finals this year.

Good to get the win but yep they need to improve heaps of they can compete against the likes of port Melbourne Geelong and a like
For now they have a good position on the ladder
But today I felt they relaxed too much
Was a scrappy affair and the pies just had no flow
And stop this aimlessly long bombs they don’t work
Instead run and carry is best
Should have won by an extra 3 goals
A lot to work on this week at training

DB, how does the VFLW interract with the AFLW, same as the AFL / VFL?
How many AFLW players can be on the list?

If there's a link available, feel free to shoot it through. The info in the VFLW site is a bit scant.
