Truly a legend of the club.
He was picking up Neale most of the night.
And Neale thrashed him.
Pendlebury carried Collingwood tonight. 31 disposals, 12 clearances, a goal, 2 goal assists and 517 metres gained. The only reason he might not get the 3 Brownlow votes is because Collingwood were well-beaten. You need to distinguish between Neale looking good because he's surrounded by talent and Pendlebury having to do everything the hard way, on his own.
Neale thrashed him...simple.
Pendles did ok when the game was over just when the lions put the cue in the rack.
Pendles is not the player he was.
He made 3 critical mistakes in a 5 minute period in the second quarter.
Whether he got 30 disposals does not matter to me.
It is impact and he had the best of our midfield but he was far from Neale.

Floreat Pica.
I agree. I thought that considering those we had absent, we showed that the rest of the team would provide the necessary foundation to defeat Brisbane, and especially on the G.
However, our trials and tribulations are centering on our midfield. As others have commented, it lacks speed and dynamism.
I love being a retrospective commentator, but it does seem to me that we have not paid enough attention to this issue over the season.
We need more speed through there. Next week, we need to give McInnes a crack: he has speed, he is tall.
We have our backs against the wall now.
We have lost 3 of our last 4
Hugely important that we cement the win against Essendon next week. Not for ladder position, but for mindset.

We are a work in progress,
We think of ourselves as winners,
Moving the ball quickly through the corridor is in our DNA,
Come Monday morning you wouldn't know if we won. drew or lost.

Maybe that's the problem.

Don't mind the loss, was kind of expecting it but heart, toughness, desperation and good decision making was non-existent.

Other contenders show more when down on personnel

We win the big one from here and i'll be very pleasantly surprised but we better win it or it's a 4 year rebuild while we watch Blues contend every year.

Now you got me singing Pina Colada song by Rupert Holmes
If you get beat in the midfield,
and free kicks wont go your way,
Just put Cox in the ruck ya,
Clearances flow ya way

They been shit me too long;

The fact is that we are simply not good enough at the moment to win games. We need to improve our game, lift as a team and go in much harder if we are to achieve ultimate success. This will be a tough ask but can be done with a passion to go all out. I’m honestly unsure if they can this year but it is gettable if fully committed to the one goal. I’m nervous about their chances.
Exactly Lazza. I'm glad you've seen reality. We can hope, but this is the wrong end of the season to have so much consistently going wrong. And we won't have McCreey either next week (suspended).

4 goal loss to second in the ladder
No Moore De Goey Daicos Hill
Debutant gives up two goals and gets knocked out
Murphy tunelled by Rayner then smashed in head by Daniher- no free- he leaves field concussed- they kick first of last
Cox plays
Howe back
McStay or a Cameron Out
Carmichael in the middle
Umps disgraceful

Got the outcome most were expecting.

Still concerned about the decline of our defence.

In reality though our hopes will succeed or fail on the back of our midfield.

It all starts from there.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

There are no players in the VFL who could come in and turn the midfield problem around.
We have to getting someone from the AFL team
I say IQ but hey maybe try Markov or even dare I say ...Moore!!!!
We need to fix this problem now or kiss the flag goodbye.

I’m still annoyed ump didn’t call play on when Brisbane players stepped off the mark and PLAYED ON. It effectively took our player on the mark out of the game, they can’t move an inch until ump calls play on. Happened a few times and needs to be looked at by the bosses.

Oh and that 50m not paid to checkers

FOUR damn umpires, ffs. These things are bread and butter stuff for junior league umpiring

How has Carmichael dropped from AFL regular to not being ready to come in within 12 months??
