What Ponting described as "a huge blunder" might well have altered the result, not only of this Test but the whole series.
The old ball and the exchanged one were wayyyy different from each other., with the newer, shinier ball looking nothing like the old one.
Immediately after the change, the English bowlers plundered, with the newer ball hooping all over the shop.
The Test and series results won't be changed but there must be repercussions on the 2 umpires. Appalling decision, presided over by (presumably) both umps.
