Just shows how well our defence absorbed their pressing.
They had 32 more inside 50's and we still won
Must be some sort of record.
I think Sarah Jones said it was a record. That was brutal, I thought the dam was about to break. I might need to give the back 6 my votes.

Mitchell was brilliant in getting us first use when we set the game up.

It’s clear we’ve been coasting a bit for six weeks just to get here, it would be nice to go in to the GF on the back of a more complete performance by belting Port for 3 qtrs.

But we did do very well tonight to comfortably win 2 qtrs, a stalemate in the 2nd and just hold on the last 10 minutes with everything against us. Their poor kicking helped, but that was also from us forcing them wide.

Hopefully Jamie finds his kicking boots by the prelim though!

[quote="doriswilgus"]Oh my God,what a heart stopper in the end.I thought they were going to over run us,but luckily they were doing it in slow motion.

Umpires were horrible as usual,I was having uncomfortable flashbacks to last year’s qualifying final where they did us over in no uncertain terms.

Well done Pies!.Onto the Preliminary final now!

1. Pies are not a dominant team

2. But they are hard to beat

In order to be 1. you need to first be 2.

Irony is we may just win the premiership this year. Which would make us 1.

Crazy game

HOME PRELIM!!
what a win

yes the umpires were awful, did everything to get the demons back into the game but we can forget all that as we have a week off and into the Prelim, and we escape the death side of the draw.

boys earned it.

Bruz to get off especially if GWS Bedford did for an actual bump
but i suspect it will be a long drawn out process again.

^ fair assessment. Mitchell was so important early on, his experience really shine through. And tough, he and Adams set the tone early.

If Jamie and Checkers slotted one more of those we could have broken them earlier. But they kept coming.

Forgetting the umps won't help.

We get the raw end of the pineapple regularly with those two and the AFL regard @##$%% Stevens as an elite maggot - guess who we will get in the prelim?

"We are on top for a reason..." Brayden Maynard several weeks back.

" Collingwood can't enjoy the same luck in 2023 and will finish tenth" (Caroline Wilson- pre season).

Clayton Oliver threw the ball three times tonight.

Two sets of rules there tonight- it was actually embarrassing watching the umpires.

Sidebottom in 2018 was tagged out of the GF- this time, because he has slipped down the totem pole he played a super game without the tag...

Can Petracca and Gawn play any better?? I doubt it.

If Elliott kicks those goals in the first quarter, we hit quarter time around 5 to 6 goals up. He seemed a tad 'off' tonight- but credit to Hibberd who played well on him..

Moore and Murphy will be much better for the run...

The fella in number 35 will make a significant difference when he returns.

A lot on here suggesting Sidey and WHE were vulnerable. Well they stood up. Jack G came on late and played like a man possessed. This team plays as a team.

Gawn masterclass? - hardly . . . considering everyone in our side kept setting him up.
