Grand Final Entertainment

Post by Hiss »

Why can’t the AFL trial various artists before they get a gig to play at the Grand Final? Including finding someone to sing our National Anthem without screeching it out like Lord Monkton’s ferrets. I mean seriously, half time was a shocker. And why no Air Force jets like when Eddie was President? For what they pay for this entertainment, they could get an Elvis impersonator for hardly any cost and reduce the ticket prices and it would be much better. The AFL must be the most useless clowns running any gig in the world. Next year I’ll volunteer to do a rendition of Oh Danny Boy. Surely that would be better than Meatloaf and others the AFL produce. IMO the best ever was Vietnam Veteran Noel Watson singing Waltzing Matilda.
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

Seriously, we’ve just won a 16th and this is your comedy routine on this site? Give yourself a spell…

Doesn't your missus do throat singing or something?....
We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.

Kiss were awesome and everybody around us singing the national Anthem was fantastic.

Reminds me of Mick Molloy on The Late Show who was in charge of booking bands for the show, but inevitably stuffed up.

Might we have had HISS instead of KISS?

I like the fact AFL GF entertainment is the Ed Wood of spectacles.

Grand Final Entertainment 2024

Post by Presti35 »

Just checked and Taylor Swift isn't doing anything in September.

What can the AFL do to beat Kiss last year? Who would you like to see perform before the big game? International? or Australian owned?

Great think tank. I’m thinking of the following:

For Aussie I’ll go for
Chemical brothers
Kylie and Danny Minogue

Not sure on international but I think U2 have one more left in them to do
Or the Corrs

Like the idea of Taylor but it will cost way too much and besides I think she’s done her stuff here

The only way to beat KISS would be The Rolling Stones.

What about Elvis? Or the Beatles? Of course we'd have to have a seance first.

I thought the pre match show was great. I only thought they could have done more than just the 3 songs.
