Re: VFL Round 18
Nice to see a win.
Liked the look of Ryan, did well. Fin got a lot of ball at contests but seemed to constantly kick it around his body straight to a Tiger. I missed Allans kick, I was moving the tablet, heard the commentators yell and looked down to see it bouncing through.
Reef looked much better when switched forward in the last, had 2 or 3 shots. He has straight line speed but the turning circle of a B double. For mine he needs to be 3rd tall forward but we seem to like 2 talls and 4 smalls.

Re: VFL Round 18
Final scores Pies 9 10. ( 64 ) defeat Tigers 7.11 ( 53 )
Probably the only quarter Richmond won but still not enough to come over the top of the Pies.
Over four quarters we dominated most stats and we were easily the best team for the first three quarters and then did enough to hold on.
MacRae and Allan ( 2 lovely goals ) were dominant, while Dimattia won his wing and Dean controlled the backline. McInnes went to forward line with five mins to go and showed more in that 5 mins than the previous 95 mins as a defender. Smit didn’t have much to beat in the ruck and that allowed him to show some impressive ruck craft around the ground. He pretty much gave our on ballers an arm chair ride all day.
Nice to finally play an opposition that’s as injury riddled as we are, so we should keep some perspective when looking at players performances. Having said that, those mentioned above were very very dominant today. I’m just happy for the players to finally get some reward for their efforts. Hopefully, this performance will give them the belief to back up again next week.

Good to hear Allen had a good game today. Hopefully this is the turning point. His last quarter 80m torpedo and rolling goal is here

Nice to finally win after a long losing streak.
Good numbers from Allan, Macrae and Dean which is promising.

Good win by the boys. I was really pleased for them. The mids dominated in wet conditions, thought Eyre was great. Was concerned when he went off limping but was just a knock to the shin. The kids really stood up and took control

Re: VFL Round 18
Is DeMattia a chance to push for senior selection soon?
Been hearing that his development is coming along nicely.

One post match thought just occurred. I think that is DeMattia's and Smit's first win in VFL Pies colours. Also Josh Eyre's first win for the VFL season.

Full-Time Collingwood (64) def. Richmond (53)
The Pies eventually returned to the winner's list following the strong performances from Charlie Dean, Ed Allan and Finlay Macrae.

Dean was a pillar in defence, recording 15 marks and 27 touches while Allan gathered 32 disposals to go with his two goals.
Macrae was critical in the midfield, utilising his clean hands to assist with Collingwood's running game.
Reef McInnes remained goalless but found plenty of the ball while mid-season recruit Iliro Smit continues to build his game toward AFL standard.
