Sydney radio rumour
Via the dubious mouth of Crackers Keenan and his AFL segment
"Sydney will be throwing everything to get Tarrant for 2005 and have already begun talking to his manager about a possible move north"

The rumour have definately started early.
1. Tarrant is being chased by Sydney.
2. Joel Smith has stated he wants to come to Collingwood.
3. Leon Davis for Wirrpunda is a done deal already.
It's a laugh a minute. We would be lucky in one rumour out of 50 are correct. I wonder if Crackers idiot remarks are the same as Doug Hawkins idiot remarks last year. Remeber, "Nathan Brown will be coming to Collinngwood in a done deal that involved the Footy Show"!

Yes i do, Tarrant is an All Australian forward. He is one of the hardest working forwards in the competition. He showed this with his fantastic leading and marking last year; and was also something like number 2 for goal assists. So not only does he constantly present and mark the football, but he is a great team player and can set up goals as well has he kicks them. Now certainly, Hall has the edge in terms of goal kicking ability as he has kicked more goals then tarrant on a consistent basis.
Now Taz has not had the season that Hall has had this year due to many different circumstances. It is hard to be in the top 10 for anything when u miss half the year. Furthermore, taz is younger then Hall by a few years and is probably yet to reach his peak, whereas Hall is most likely in the peak form of his career.
Did Hall make the All Australian team last year? I cant remember..... i know he played in the International Rules series.
Hall is a fantastic forward, i believe in the top 5 in the league. But i believe the Chris Tarrant of Last year is as good as him.

So far, I've heard rumours that Tarrant is going to
- the West Coast Weasels in a swap for Chris Judd
- the Sydney Swines in a swap for Barry Hall
- Melbourne in a swap for the entire MCG and 3 Mt Hotham chalets
- St.Kilda in a swap for Koschitzke and Del Santo
- Essendon in a swap for Adam McPhee
- Brisbane in a swap for Jonathon Brown
- Fremantle in a swap for Matthew Pavlich
- the Wallabies in a swap for George Gregan and and Lote Tuqiri
- the US swimming team in a swap for Michael Phelps
- Russia in a swap for Maria Sharapova
- Iraq for 50% of their oil reserves
- Richmond for the entire proceeds of their fans' dole cheques for the next 3 years.
Rumours: what people who don't know pretend to know!

Now at the start let me say that I am a big fan of Taz.
Taz is NOT in the same class as Hall as Hall converts - no ifs no buts - and that can win you games.
Taz would be traded if the deal was right - as we could put Pebbles or even better C2 who is a very accurate kick for goal.
Taz is NOT the FF option for the Pies - Davo is and this may now be changed due to Davo's knee - and how well C2 has stood up and played this year.
If Taz stays at the Pies he will be a fantastic HF who will be impossible to match up on - but he cannot play FF as his conversion rate is not in the league of Lloyd, Hall and even Riewoldt.
I hope he stays as we should trade the first 2 picks.
My tip for trades is that OB and Presti are gone - for Smith and N.Lonie.

Of those three, the most likely is Davis for Wirrapunda. I don't really want to get Wirrapunda or get rid of Neon, as he has shown something this season.spoljar wrote:The rumour have definately started early.

I'd gladly swap Leon for Wirrpunda.
If any West Coast people are reading this, may I say that Leon is a sensational player who would be a vital ingredient to your team, and the one player that the Eagles need for their premiership campaign in 2005 and beyond. In fact, he's so good that you ought to consider trading Wirrpunda, Judd and your first two draft picks.
