Newsflash - Bombers hot for Leon's Magic.

Post by Pants & Rowdy »

Keep on hearing a rumour that Leon Davis is being sought out by Essendon. Unless they offer something of substance I would be reluctant to let him go as he is showing some glimpses of midfield class.
Apparently the Bombers have a need for some speedy on ballers and recognise an opportunity exists for Leon....By all accounts he has been spoken too....

Interesting. Essendon need a "speedy on-baller", so are looking at Neon Leon? I've been saying for a while now that, instead of casting our eyes on the Judds and Harveys, we should focus on developing the quick guys we already have. I would find it most ironic (but not in the least bit humorous) if, as rumoured, Shaw gets the flick and Leon gets traded away and, since we've got "pigs fly" chances of landing a Judd or Harvey, we end up with even less pace than we have now.

If Leon goes anywhere it's west. One local real estate agent is getting a good deal of visits from Leon and it has not invloved buying.

Good point, time will tell. I will go with the opinion if he leaves it will be to go home not to Essendon.

So do we. Neon should grow into a midfielder next season.

Hate to see him go ....i think the bombers think its potentially a bargain pick up. Either way if something of value was offered to us perhaps we could consider it at the very least. He did show glimpses this year, but like Obree and a couple of others when it mattered ie Grand finals, he was found wanting....

The only possible trade I would deem acceptable would be Rioli for Davis. And knowing the bummers wouldn't do this, the windy hill whingers can stick it!

In response to the topic starter, wasn't it a mods decision that unless the source of a rumour is named, then any posts of these types would be deleted?

Can't remember that Dale, probably right, you have a good memory. I think it is nice that if you are going to post a rumour, that you atleast give us some sort of idea where you heard it. It helps prevent people just making up random ideas and calling them rumours.
