Woey, you should read the post properly; I was referring to member's preceding post when I mentioned $20k per goal.
My own estimate - earlier post - is that Taz is probably on $250-300k.
I don't make up crap. For that, you have to go to BigFooty!

On your own estimate Cannibal, that is 400k... And even your earlier post where u said 250-300, still dont know how that is $20k per goal.Member wrote: tarrant is the second highest paid player at collingwood...
Sorry mate, just cant work out your maths.Cannibal wrote:If Taz is our second highest paid player then he can piss off down the Princes Highway to Geelong as rumour-mongers suggest, 'cause he ain't worth it. That would work out at about $20,000 per goal, FFS! ...
IMO Tarrant is our second-3rd most important player, and he shouldnt be goin anywhere. He will prive his worth, just watch!!!

jeez some of u guys get a bit hot headed bout how much a player should be paid. I don't care how much tazza is paidl. he could be paid a million a year for all i care as long as we r able to fit all our other stars and players in the same cap.
IMO how much a players worth money wise is irrelevant as long as he is worth alot in trade value (during trade period) and valuble to the team.

OB + draft pick for TJ and both sides will win.
Taz would be a better forward if the Pies have a REAL skills coach - and then Lica, MCG, Presti etc., could be taught how to kick.
Taz is on the table BUT will ONLY be traded if we can get what we require.
If we could do a multi team deal and get Del Santo or Ball and TJ and lose OB or MCG and Taz it would be done.
C2 will be FF in 2005+ - bigger, tougher and very good kicking for goal.
MUST have a FF that can convert - Gehrig, Lynch, Lloyd and even Tredrea.
Pies will be prepared to trade some big players this year as we have been cut short in 2002 and 2003 and better trading would have got us there.

Tredreas goal kicking is just about as bad as Tazzas. Some of the shots he missed in the PF could have cost them. The other 3 are great kicks but.sq3 wrote:

But i do agree with you saying that taz would be traded if we got a good deal. It would have to be exceptional however, as taz is our 2nd most important player.

In 2004 -
Tredrea - 75 goals as opposed to Taz - 36.
Behinds -
Tredrea 40 as opposed to Taz - 30.
Conversion rates -
Tredrea - 115/75/40 = 65.2%
Tarrant - 66/36/30 = 54.5%
This is a good enough reason to get a FULL TIME kicking and skills coach.
Why can't we get Barry Rowlings or the like ???
Time for some productive recruiting off the field - but Lloyd is the start.

Agreed that Tredrea Kicked accurately this year and that We need a full time skills coach. And also agree that Taz needs to work on his goalkicking
But Tredreas kicking in other years has been just as bad as Taz this year and that if we wanted to get a player to kick accurately, tredrea wouldnt be on the top of my list. LLoyd, Gehrig, Hall are all better kicks then Tredrea. Tredreas goal kicking stats are as follows.
In 2003 it was 59 goals 36 behinds
2002 = 49 goals 41 behinds
2001 couldnt find any data on
2000 = 32 goals 35
1999 = 40 goals 30
1998 = 33 goals 18
I would be pulling my Hair out if we had Taz, Tredrea and Rocca in our forward line kicking for goal. Although we would have so many shots at goal anyway it wouldnt matter

Spot on - Pies Fan - Tredrea has improved his conversion rate and Taz hasn't.
Taz needs to be played as a Riewoldt type further up the ground.
I think C2's conversion rate will be better than Tredrea's as he has a pure kicking mechanism - sort of like Didak.
C2 will be our FF for a few years into the future.

Correct. Thats why losing Terry Danniher hurt us, as he was the brains behind Tazza's 2003 rise.foxychick wrote:Tazza is a good player...but he could be better if HE wanted to
Tarrant's field kicking is ok, so why not his goal kicking? He has slotted some brilliant goals from the boundry and then misses from dead in front. He is one player I hold my breath on when he kicks for goal. Treadra is narrowly a better kick for goal, and has improved more - wehich is a concern. It is time for a new goal kicking coach, SCotty Cummings hasn't done much to help us this year.
Cam Cloke will become our full forward for about 5 years, before Billy Morrison and Rocca switch out of there in Pebbles' twilight.
