Buckley leads new look Pies to big win

Collingwood has given coach Mick Malthouse a dream start at his new AFL club with a 54 point mauling of Hawthorn at the MCG.
The Magpies took control in the second term and won easily 20.20 (140) to 13.8 (86).

Anthony Rocca kicked two booming goals from outside 50 and finished with four for the game while captain Nathan Buckley was among the Pies' best.

Hawks' key forward Nick Holland helped avert a disaster with six goals.

The game was played in 30-plus degree heat and the two sides worked the interchange benches continuously to combat fatigue.
