Very strong midfield which has been our deficiency against Geelong in the past. Geelong have a fitness edge on us but that is offset by the fact that they played in Cairns last week in the humidity.

I think our forward line is too potent and our midfield strength will overrun them in the end

I don't necessarily hold to the theory that they will be worn out because of travelling and playing in Cairns last week.
I remember last year waiting for Adelaide to fall over from all the travelling and that took a while - until they played us in fact.

Rocca will not play I hear, Malthouse is focussed on the bigger picture and is not fussed if we lose.

Even if Rocca and Bucks don't play I believe it will be a walk in the park for the pies! We are just too good for those HAND BAGGERS now! I don't think that's getting too confident either!

Huh? My Nath's not playing? Awwwwww! Where's my 'eye candy' for this week then? Image

Going on lists, we shoud beat the Cats, but how much do we want to win? I know that Mark Thompson really wants the win so they'll be going at it, all guns blazing, whereas the past couple of weeks have shown that we're still treating it as just practice, good if we win but not life or death if we don't. And Jimmy Clement said that they themselves are surprised to have gotten this far in the pre-season tournament.

I think Geelong will be the big improvers this year. They were close last year but ran out of legs towards end of season. Remind me a lot of Collingwood of a few years ago.....

What's the word with Lica. Is he OK to play? I want to win every game we play naturally, but I'd rather not risk injury. Shaw named again, good stuff, hope he keeps improving. Another thread topic I know, but I wonder if he'll get picked for Rnd. 1 if he does well for the next 1 (or 2) games?

According to the DT today, the PIES havrent beaten Geelong since 1989,so the colinists are saying that the cats will come out firing, but MM dosent care at all.
Lets see what happens.

Somebody must have the "DTs" if they think we haven't beaten the Pussies since '89.

Maybe they mean in the preseason cup, but then again, have we played them since then?

JLC and I both agree that Michael Bevan should be put on the ball.

A natural winner.

The only man with the nerve to do the job.

Any issues with this, PM JLC-he will set you straight*

* Please note the above statement may not be entirely true. The author of this post strongly suggests that you create masses of space on your computer for the deluge of irrelevant facts, figures, population trends and recipes from JLC to support his theory should you disagree. He is a dangerous man when provoked.
He also loves Michael Bevan**

Bevan would take too long to get rid of the ball.....to slow

Seriously though....our midfield should be too strong for Geelong...Ling is out so if Bucks plays he will have a free reign....

Im looking forward to seeing Bucks, Licca, Woey, burns, tarks in the midfield together....
