He has pace, can break the lines, usually excellent disposal and when he plays with his bro its awesome. Carries the ball towards the forward 50.
I would have to replace Licuria (sorry likka).

That is a very original thought. Perhaps I'm just expressing my own concern about it. What is your real name?

Although I wouldn't class his disposal as excellent, you can certainly rank it as very good. Tends to his targets around 80% of the time which is more than comparable against most players.
I would also replace Licca with Shaw as Shaws disposal is a lot sharper and his running capacity is much greater.

Licca has been good the last month. Such hardness he has shown. I even think he is hitting more targets than not. I am a proponent of having Lonie in the team, so i fear having both Lonie and Rhyce may make us a tad soft, although Rhyce has got a lot tougher and courageous. I, as i said in another thread about clement think that Maxwell is the one hanging onto his spot.

If Richards rucks more, it means Fraser spends more time up forward giving us a 3rd tall. Therefore, Maxwell has no spot in the forward or backlines at full strength. If we want a defensive forward, i think Licuria could be an option. I have seen him play a few times up forward, and he adds such tackling power, and ive seen him kick 3 or 4 goals up there on some occasions.

Just watch lonie's first quarter against the Dons and count the tackles, and count the goal assists, and then remember its his first game back from OP this year at senior level, after a few half games at williamstown, the last he dominated the first half of the game and was then rested. He gets another shot.

Maybe Lonie.

I watched the 3rd Q of Pies v Bombers tape last night.

Boy, Lonie fumbled and shirked the issue a couple of times when the pressure is on. Can't have that in the team IMO (especially in finals), even with his great disposal and run (and he did have a good game despite this). I think Racer could replace that anyway. What Racer looses in kicking ability, he gains in attitude and greater numbers.

BUT, Racer need at least 1 game at Willi first IMO

I like Lica in the team. He provides a steady head and hard body. Especially, now that we are playing in the period when the kids tire (both theirs and ours).

Definately think Rhyce for Lonie. Both a very similar players except that Rhyce is more inclined to put his head over the ball.
On the Rhyce for Licca idea...??? Licca's been playing inspired football for the last month since coming back it would be a very bad mistake to drop him for a ball carrier as we have enough "run by" players and limited stocks of "in and under" players.

Rhyce

Who else wants Rhyce Shaw back in the team asap? and who does he replace?
Can't play anywhere on the forward line coz he does'nt like shooting for goal and when he does have a shot he usually misses so he has to play somewhere down the back line and with Jimmy hopefully back soon and the back half fairly settled I suspect that Rhyce will struggle to get a run.

The reality is someone is bound to get injured before too long. Out of 22 players, the law of averages has to catch up with you sooner or later. Rhyce will get his chance then - and whoever gets injured will have his work cut out getting back in.

The other thing is that Mick has already said that he wants to rest some of the younger players before the finals to freshen them up. Pendles might be one, not sure which others.

Surely the law of averages should dictate that we go injury free for a while, we've cetainly had our fair share this season. Personally, I think Rhyce is in our best 22. I was happy to see Lones back but I reckon he's the one to make way (unless he sets the world on fire over the next fortnight).

Yes I agree with the philosophy of resting the youngsters. I don't want a player say Marty, to burn out! But I think this is a good problem we are faced with in such a successfully competitive team.
