Disappointing result at Anfield.

Our troubles started at 10 minutes when Heskey went off injured. Then disaster struck 3 minutes later, with Phillips scoring, as he did in the corresponding game last season.

Ziege played exceptionally well for Liverpool and looked more and more dangerous as the match went on with his well-placed corners and free-kicks. It was a Ziege free-kick that set up the equaliser at 33 minutes when Owen chalked up goal number 7 for the season with a brilliant header.

French import, Diomede, played a superb 1st half which was almost capped off with what would have been the goal of the season had it not been for a magnificent save by Sorensen. Again it was Ziege who set up the chance, with Diomede attempting a Pele-style scissor goal.

Danny Murphy, who replaced Heskey, was very busy throughout the match and seemed to be in the call constantly.

The second half was fairly scrappy. The highlight was probably the return of Fowler, who replaced Diomede at 72 minutes. He didn't do much, however, until he narrowly missed scoring the winner with only seconds remaining.

All in all, a disappointing day for the Reds. Many of our attacks were wasted when we were caught off-side time and again.

Yes Alf, a disappointing result. Apparently Phillips' goal was a cracker.

Don't forget, the mighty Millwall rolled Oxford 5-0!!!

There the sort of games we have to win Alf, especially at home. Heskey is a huge blow but its good to be getting a few players back from injury and I certainly hope that trend continues.

i find it strange that when heskey went off injured they replaced him with an attacking midfielder? fair enough fowler was just coming back but surely there was another option for a striker to replace him. We often play away from home with only one lone striker up front, but seems very strange to have only the one striking option on the bench, returning from injury, and no others????????????
would have been good to make up some ground on the leaders who all drew.... or the teams that will be there at the end of the year...

PS: dave who is the young aussie who scored for millwall lasy week? where is he from? how old is he? what position does he play?
