Reds' defence crumbles

Post by AlfAndrews »

Leeds United 4
Liverpool 3

Liverpool's highly suspect defence has once again surrendered a handy lead. This time we've paid the full price ... surrendering a two goal lead and coming away with nothing.
Ziege scored the second goal after some fine work by McAllister, who was brilliant in the first half. But it was the same Ziege who set the rot in motion with a dreadful error that let Viduka in for his first of four (that's right, 4!!!!!) goals. Just before half-time it was obvious that the wheels were falling off. After missing a number of golden opportunities, Liverpool suddenly found themselves under extreme pressure late in the half, just hanging on to a 2-1 lead.

But our worst fears were realised in the first minute of the second half when Viduka struck again. Liverpool regained the lead again through Smicer. But a horror patch about 20 minutes from the end saw Viduka score two more goals and we were stuffed.

I suppose Viduka will get a lot of hype for his 4 goals, but really, I think it's fair to say that Liverpool's defence has got a bit of soul-searching ahead of it.

All hail the new KING of soccer the V-BOMBER!!!!! He made the reds defence look second rate. Give him some credit alf,he took his chances and buried them like a GUN striker should. Pity the bloke at the other end couldn't. Emile WHO? Look out Man U and Arsenal here we come!!! To the reds fans you can all walk alone!

To all those who thought I was talking bullsh@t,my quote from 'Heskey Again' was 'If I was a Liverpool supporter I'd be worried'.
I don't particularly hate Liverpool(as i do Man U) but it is obviosly to those of us in England (press & supporters) that Liverpool are in a league position that doesn't reflect how bad they are, they're literally light years behind the Mancs & the Gooners.
But I have to say Big Poppa Pump has got a point eveyone over here is starting to take notice of the 'V Bomber' the dude is really flying-but I'm sure all the attention will destroy him & he'll end up on the shrinks couch again.
