I'm so glad all this talk about Newcastle's woes have taken attention off Liverpool's failure at Anfield against Ipswich. What a relief not to have to cop a bagging over that one!!!

Damm right Alf, lets not worry too much about past results though. I'm already looking forward to crushing some second div club in the first round of the FA Cup and then destroying some Italian jokers in the UEFA Cup.

Fletch, the 'Italian jokers' in question being Roma currently top of Seira A in Italy & this particular match up reminds old Dipper of a glorious summer night in 1984(when Dipper was just a wee laddy) when Liverpool played Roma in the European Cup final at the Olympic Stadium in Rome-the match went to penalties & Bruce Grobbelar did his 'spaghetti legs' just as Francesco Graziani ran in to take his kick,the Italian proceeded to smash the ball high over the crossbar & Liverpool were champions of Europe.Oh what great days they were with English teams ruling Europe (that particular victory meant that the European Cup had been won 6 years in a row by English teams & there were no foreign players in site only a collection of Jocks,Taffies & Micks)so I say bravo to Liverpool,they may be a bunch of thieving scousers but they were the best team this country ever produced(except of course for the Arsenal side of the 30's)
