A pointless attack, and yet another Caro article without substance. Why does the Age persist with having her on the books, and surely there are more interesting and important things to write about. I think she must have been bullied at school and unfortunately the bully must have been a Collingwood supporter! Have placed the article in my cat's litter box.
Is there any place you would rather be, than with me at the MCG?

for a moment let's forget the article is about collingwood. if this were the same story but about another team, say carlton, richmond, whoever, what would your reaction be?
let's not get too precious here. if you read the article on face value she does make a fair point.

1. We could not have foreseen that our players would get stomach bugs pre-season. That severely affected our preparation for the Dubai game.
2. Our strategy to do high-altitude training in the past has been very successful. We have made the finals 2 years running despite been backed not to even make the 8. So no need to criticise that decision.
3. Adelaide beat a full strength Fremantle without Goodwin or Edwardes even going close to the midfield...in fact Goodwin was mothballed at quarter time. Seems to me Collingwood struck a hot outfit very keen to make a statement pre-season.
Adelaide have been written off, but their early form is a clear indication of how good they are. They are playing close to full strength as well and easily disposed of our young outfit.
4. Collingwood has always played a young team in NAB cup...12 other teams have done the same this year. Only Hawthorn, Carlton, Adelaide and Fremantle have looked close to full strength, and even they are all resting players.
5. This was a simple and clever way to open the can of worms that Collingwood gets a good fixture. Yes we get a pretty good deal...but there was some very clever work done by Eddie and the board to ensure this. In the mean-time, interstate clubs are guarenteed home finals if they have earnt them instead of having to play MCG as a home game in the finals series.
Seriously, its pre-season. You cant read too far into our form. Our good players all played well in the VFL last week and disposed of the reigning premiers with ease. No need to worry at this stage.

I'm gonna step out on a limb, and say that i agree with some of the points.
However, in typical Caro fashion, she manages yet again to jumble some good points with irrelevent attacks at our side.
Anyways, her assertions that I can agree to are:
1) why wasnt lockyer at the albany game?? Now, i havent been following our preseason too closely, so excuse me for not having the full picture
2) knowing that 200 farewelled us at the airport in Albany, despite our loss, kind of made me wish we gave the local crowd more...
3) why are we complaining about travelling to Albany and other regional areas?? just seems like a trivial thing for Malthouse to complain about.
Anyways, nothing too serious in this article. she can say what she wants what the hell do we care??

I loathe to do this because i love your passion when it comes to the mighty pies.
But the fact is mate we did not beat the reigning premiers last weekend we beat kids assembled from the Geelong and surrounding area in a scratch match that was nothing more than a good hit-out for some of our senior guys.
I agree with your comments about nothing to worry about, The 2008 premiers are going along nicely, Winning games in Feb dont win you games in September.
Carro as beautiful as she is nothing but a frustrated Bitchmond supporter who would love her club to one day be as good and superior as the mighty magpies
What would any season be without a spiteful attack from the fish stocking wearing carro ?
