They're playing Port Melbourne first up, so I think the 12/10 rule comes into play.

However, I'm not sure whether this is applicable for Geelong and Collingwood when playing stand-alone VFL teams, but there has been some serious discussion on it.

what happens if the 12/10 rule applies? where do our other AFLlisted players play? I know the VFL ones go back to their local sides.

Maybe we need a thirds side ie: Collingwood VFL reserves.

We certainly do need a VFL reserves side. At present a lot of our players will have to train and play with numerous other teams throughout the year, as they can't all play each week.

The 12/10 rule will only apply when playing Port Melbourne, Frankston and Tasmania, and the finals.

I'd be fairly certain that we would take our three emergencies up to Brisbane on Friday night. So would they be back in time to play Saturday afternoon?

If not, that would eliminate three additional senior players from the starting 22.

I, like Magpiepep and Rudeboy agree that we need a VFL reserve team to keep the enthusiasm of the primary/rookie listed players instead of them returning to local teams to play and not being able to bond with their fellow players on the list
