Plus Port and Williamstown, have to show that game at least once a season, and been awhile since they were both there abouts. Since Willy won the flag in 2003 i'd suspect. I hope to see Willy do to that scum across the bay, what they did to Tassie last week.Dale61 wrote:This was NEVER a scheduled TV game. Next weeks game was the game dumped by the ABC-TV. In the last month of the H&A season, they tend to show (and prefer) games that will shape the final 8.-magpies are 2 good- wrote:game was suppose to be on tv but they changed it and decided to put the other game on instead
I can always be thankful for one thing for following Williamstown to every game all those years, it taught me to hate Port Melbourne with a strong passion. The Carlton of VFL for me.

Someone who kicks 8 of 11 goals must surely be close to selection in the firsts.PraiseMillane wrote:2008 VFL Seniors

wellingham didnt play in the vfl hence why he played in afl.
barham played good in the last qtr few good kicks and running from backline.
caffer i reckon should be in the afl but the thing is who to drop.
lonie kicked a good goal from outside 50 on the run almost got a 2nd but just fell short.
presti i reckon has to play afl this year or it could be bye bye presti as in he will hang up the boots.
the boys played well in last qtr from a 6 goal margin at start of last qtr to lose by 5 pts

Pics from yesterday's game.
Once again the side was torn apart with key players Justin Crow, Chris Dawes, John McCarthy, Danny Stanley and Ryan Cook all dropped for good performances.
The patched up side came out fighting and really took the game up to the other VFL Tigers. The game was in the balance until once again a ridiculous umpiring decision in front of goal gave Werribee the chance to extend their slender lead and the momentum then shifted in their favour and they moved out to a breeze-assisted five goal lead. Dispite this Brent MacAffer was outstanding at Full Forward and providing a real target for the midfielders.
The huddle was hushed at three quarter time as Rowdy gave his chargers instructions. Gavin is strong proponent of self-belief. Players don't need to be roused into action, they just need to know that the people around them believe in them.
The Pies came out intent on using the breeze and chipping away at the Werribee lead. Time was ticking away and the Pies were making little headway. After a ridiculous Werribee free kick in front of goal that gave them their only goal of the quarter, the young Pies went on late surge that saw the boys edge to within five points and as stated above for the want of another 30 seconds, 10 even. Sam Iles was surging forward and Caff was eyeing off his 9th when the hooter sounded.
Pies down by a kick. Caff with 8 big ones.
We hate losing and a win here would put us above Bendigo and well clear of the dreaded spoon, but these boys did the jumper and the Club very, very proud. In less than a season the VFL Magpies have already established themselves as a troublesome outfit for the other well established VFL teams.

Great pics die4pies! It was good that they got back into it during the 4th quarter but I was wishing for an extra 5 odd minutes to win it!! Caff was great and I agree with Jock that Frosty was consisent throughout the whole game.
Thanks to everyone I met on Saturday, it was good to put some faces to the names!
