And So This Is Xmas...

Post by Miss_Lisey_Molloy »

...And what have you done?

Haha, I was watching the top 10 xmas songs on Music Max before, and this is now stuck in my head!!

Soo.. what is everyone doing this Christmas? Do you do the whole family lunch on the day? Before the day? After the day? Not at all?

Do you know what you are getting? Do you tell your family exactly what to buy you? Do you get lots of presents or only a couple?

Let's spread some Christmas cheer, for all to.. uhh.. see??

Love always, Alyssa xoxo

Haha I forgot to write mine :P

Well, we usually do a small christmas lunch with my family and a couple of relatives, but this year we are doing an even smaller one..

My nephews are with their dad for the morning, so Me, Mum, Dad & my sister, Belinda are going to visit my Pop.. Then, we're going to Belinda's for lunch, and we'll do presents after that. My brother, Brendan, and Abbey will meet us at Belinda's because they want to "sleep in".. Haha! It's the only day of the year where I don't do that :P!

My family is BIG on presents!! We never tell each other what we are getting, and the gift giving is a very long, exciting, surprising process!! :D:D

My parents have big shoes to fill though, because last year they gave Me and Belinda a laptop each, and a trip to the United States haha!! :D So, I'm very excited!! :D

I'm working.

So i'll be sitting right here where I am now lol.

I'll also be here boxing day, new years eve and new years day! party!! haha.

but for christmas, i'm not to sure what time i am working till, i am spose to work my normal shift (7:30-3:30) but might have to do overtime depending how busy we are. I was planning on going to my grandmas straight after work but i'm pretty sure i'm just going to go home and just take it as another normal day!

get in the spirit david, christmas is awesome.

for the past 23 years i've done the same thing every christmas day - big family lunch from about 11am-6pm. the past 15 years i've spent the morning with my mum and sister, had breakfast, done presents, then gone to dad's side of the family for lunch, then home back to mum and a big dinner there. my favourite night of the year was christmas night with mum my sister and my dog, just drinking and having strange conversations.

this year will be the first year that i don't see them at all let alone have dinner with them, which will be sad but kind of cool in a way cos change is a good thing. so i'll be spending christmas morning with my mate and then we'll both go our separate ways to our girlfriend's houses. fortunately mine is italian so that means lots of food and alcohol. awsome.

How about 'My Christmas List' by Simple Plan. Wraps up the spirit of Christmas perfectly....

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Ccux71pdKOo

Santa is coming tonight
And I want a car, and I want a life
And I want a first class trip to Hawaii
I want a lifetime supply
Of skittles & slurpees and Eskimo pies
I want a DVD,
A big screen TV
Just bring me things that I don't need

[CHORUS:]
'Cuz now it's Christmas
And I want everything
I just can't wait
Christmas
So don't stop spending
I want a million gifts, that's right
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
'Cuz now it's Christmas

Somebody take me away
Or give me a time machine
To take me straight to midnight
I'll be alright

I want a girl in my bed
Who knows what to do
A PlayStation 2
I want a shopping spree
In New York City
Just bring me things that I don't need

[CHORUS]

I wish I could take this day
And make it last forever
And no matter what I get tonight
I want more

It's Christmas and I want everything
I just can't wait
It's Christmas and I want everything now

Christmas
And I want everything
I just can't wait
Christmas
So don't stop spending, I
Want a million gifts,
That's right
And I can't wait 'til midnight
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
'Cuz now it's Christmas

pfft.

summed up much more accurately by none other than blink-182;

Blink-182 - Won't Be Home For Christmas

(Deck the halls with boughs of holly fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)
(Tis the season to be jolly fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)

Outside the carolers start to sing
I can't describe the joy they bring
Cause joy is something they don't bring me

My girlfriend is by my side
From the roof are hanging sickles of ice
Their whiny voices get irritating
It's Christmas time again

So I stand with a dead smile on my face
Wondering how much of my time they'll waste
Oh God I hate these Satan's helpers

And then I guess I must have snapped
Because I grabbed a baseball bat
And made them all run for shelter

It's Christmas time again
It's time to be nice to the people you can't stand all year
I'm growing tired of all this Christmas cheer
You people scare me
Please stay away from my home
If you don't wanna get beat down
Just leave the presents and then leave me alone.

Well I guess it's not cool to freak on Christmas Eve
Cause the cops came and arrested me
They had an unfair advantage

And even though the jail didn't have a tree
Christmas came a night early
Causes a guy named Bubba unwrapped my package (hot damn)

It's Christmas time again
It's time to be nice to the people you can't stand all year
I'm growing tired of all this Christmas cheer
You people scare me
Please stay away from my home
If you don't wanna get beat down
Just leave the presents and then leave me alone

I won't be home
I won't be home for Christmas
I won't be home
I won't be home for Christmas (please post my bail)
I won't be home
I won't be home for Christmas (please post my bail)
I won't be home
I won't be home for Christmas (please post my bail)
I won't be home
I won't be home for Christmas (please post my bail)
I won't be home
I won't be home for Christmas

I can't quite work out whether the Simple Plan song is ironic or not. Chances are they probably don't know either :P

I've always liked the warped version of The Night Before Christmas, when Santa springs from his piece to see what was the matter, LOL... Also The Night Santa Went Crazy by Wierd Al Yankovic is pretty hilarious

I usually do something with my side of the family for lunch and Brian's for tea. As for presents, that side of it is more for the kids, IMHO. I did get a digital camera, though, which I won't knock back!!
