So playing as a midsize leading forward?MagpieBat wrote:No, I liked him there, stui. Took a few nice grabs out on the lead and kicked a couple of nice set-shots. Missed a couple though...stui magpie wrote:Didn't get to watch any of the game on the Ap, just finished filling a 6 cubic metre skip with junk from the shed.
From reading the last few pages it looks like Oxley might be worth a go up forward. 3 goals, missed a couple. Any comments on what sort of role he played and whether he actually looked any good or just got on the end of a few lucky ones?
I'd like to see him have an extended run up there at VFL level, against some of the better sides before making a decision. Port Melbourne next week will fit the bill nicely...
I hope he can show something up forward, gives us another option. If Blair was 6 inches taller he'd be a great midsize forward as he gets in the right positions but isn't tall enough to take the marks under pressure.
We have tall options and small options up forward but nothing in the middle.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Anyone able to give a report?
liked the look of lachie tardew #68.
was an interesting game in that we did what we had to do but there is still work to do. not a complete performance.
matt smith and gussy borwick did a lot of good inside work. de goey's game was very good. so too i thought gault who had a lot of second efforts.
Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.

3rd, actually.
To elaborate, with Williamstown going down to Footscray, this is how the ladder now stands at the completion of Round 18, with three rounds to come:
Williamstown's narrow loss is a potential game changer, because Willy (quite inconveniently for them) have a bye in the final round, which gives the rest of the budding top 4 and top 2 challengers a game in hand. And all of a sudden, the minor premiership is in play...
Here are the respective runs home for the rest of the top 4, with the bolded indicating games in which those teams should start favourites:
Casey - Werribee (H), Geelong (A), Box Hill (A)
Collingwood - Port Melbourne (H), Box Hill (A), Footscray (A)
Sandringham - Box Hill (H), Richmond (H), Werribee (A)
If we manage to sweep all 3 of our remaining games and Casey stumble along the way (say, they lose to Geelong down at Kardinia Park, which is a real live possibility), then Collingwood will take out not only the minor premiership, but also the right to a home Qualifying Final and (quite likely) the easier draw for the first week of the finals.
Right now though, we sit 3rd but effectively equal 1st, a position which if you had thought we'd be in at this stage after suffering three 10 goal thrashings in the first 5 weeks, most would have thought you mad...

We would be paying the VFL an approximate gate as compensation, which I believe is the same as we did in 2014.
