We gave up an AA for him.
Our best trade deal so far has been Varcoe.
No Varcoe, no Collingwood!
Why didn't Varcoe play? Seems we had the wrong Travis on the ground.

Adams is inside grunt. Didn't have a good game last night but Treloar aside, who did?
Thomas was always an inside mid who had to learn how to play outside. Adams is a better player.

The physicality of the Swans really made our mob look second rate. It was a well planned assault! Caff was brought in expecting this and it was not enough. Hannaberry Parker are just animals and there is no side in the AFL that can hold them if they are allowed to do their stuff. The Hawks targeted them in 2013 otherwise they would not be going for their 4pete. I have not watched a replay (don't want to) but I remember the Swans putting blocks on Taylor and Greenwood as the ball was going up. The Swannies played on the limit and many times went over what is legal. There was a lot of hanging on but a lot of well timed handling of our players off the ball as well. Adams is a hard nut no doubt about it. He is just going to have to push the legal limits as well. De Goey is one too but will be up and down as he is only in his second year. Big learning experience for all our team and hopefully do a DTM 360 and put in a better effort on Friday night.

The Adams for Shaw trade is/was exactly like the Schwass/Grant trade years back.
Schwass was a champion player, and the Swans got a few years out of an elite footballer at the end of his career. North in turn got an average footballer for a long period of time.
Same here, Adams was never going to be as good, or even better than Heath, but he will be playing long after Shaw has retired. Shaw is 30, Adams 22, so we haven't seen Adams best yet, not by a long shot.
As for JT, meh, no sympathy here, he got caught, I couldn't care less if he or Keeffe ever player for us again, he's only an average player anyway, Adams is alreayd way better than he will ever be.

Taylor Adams is a future captain of the Collingwood Football Club.
Josh Thomas is a a fringe senior footballer.

Adams is a gun, future captain material IMO, he's a much better player than JT IMO.

He reminds me of Paul Licuria only right sided. I don't think he'll ever be anything better than a good average footballer but hard as nails, loves a contest and he'll play his heart out every time.

Adams wasn't very good last night but is definitely a better player than Thomas. They're both essentially inside mids, the only reason Thomas has been tried on the outside (where he's too slow and poorly skilled) is because he's not strong enough to play his natural position. Adams on the other hand is a very strong contested ball winner and will be the heart of our engine room for a long time.

He wasn't that strong last night.
Midgets are never stronger than a 190cm mid.
I have seen JT do a good strong inside job every now and then.
The point is ......is he better than average?
