Kid is 22 and already you can see his importance to the squad. Sticks to playing back-mid, has Hodge written all over it.

Agree with Bat, I'd be amazed if he was thrown back in after 6 weeks out.

Same with all our injured guys, love to see them out there, but really may aswell get experience into other guys rather than risk any reoccurence when the seasons over

Adams has had some critics, reasonably enough, for his disposal. However, last night, I think we finally saw him emerge as a match-winner. I gave Pendlebury the 5 votes, because I thought that was probably his' best-ever game for us. So it says a lot that I hesitated over whether Adams or Pendlebury were BoG. His leadership and his contribution, Not least in the relentless and controlled aggression he brought and his brutal attack on the contested footy, were decisive in getting us back into the game. The Shaw trade is the one where it's been easy to feel that we got it wrong, but the ledger is looking pretty good at this point, as Shaw starts to age and Adams becomes a game-breaking future captain.

Pendles was good all night, but Adams got us back in the game.

^ This.
Gave Adams the 5 votes in the end. Just when we needed someone to step up and make a stand, Adams was the man. Pendles was brilliant as well.

If Jamie wasn't there - we were fully cooked

I gave Pendles 5 votes but like many hesitated
Just thought Pendles shaded him in positive output for our attack
He certainly showed why he's the captain in waiting
Betting Hodge had been gobbing off all night giving it to us so Adams decided to let him know we were now in front and weren't going anywhere. Showed Hodge we won't be bullied. Pendles then next in letting Hodge know followed by Grundy and Wells
He's clearly leapfrogged Sidey in the pecking order of who's next captain.
Think after Pendles it's Adams as skipper with Moore Grundy and a smokey for me is Maynard for his fearless acts
Interestingly when we got back on terms in the second term it was Adams Pendles Grundy who really led from the front

Adams was great all of last year too imo. He and Pendles would be the first 2 picked each week imo.

I stopped thinking about the "who got the best" out of the Adams / Shaw trade a while ago.
Shaw wouldn't be playing the way he is now with us IMO and doubt he would in any other Vic club. Took a big shake up for him to wake up. He has done well in GWS however he is starting to get caught out a bit this year and I think players might push him out next year - we will see.
Even so, Adams is now a vice captain and will be playing footy after Shaw has left. He would go close to being in the first 5 picked and seems to be maturing as a player and leader every game he plays. After an up and down first year he has been solid since moving into A-grade territory.
This trade is a win - win. Good for both clubs and I think ultimately we will end up getting more out of Adams than we would have out of Shaw when he is done. That doesn't mean we win the trade, just that what GWS needed at the time was what we were able to give them. Which was more than what they gave up with the midfield depth they have.
