FFS, if people are worried about what's said on a message board, they must lead a pretty charmed life.
yeah, don't disagree, but remember my original reference to the "pecking party"?
In "one flew over the cuckoo's nest", MacMurphy likened a group discussion to something he called a "pecking party" and drew the analogy where sometimes a flock of chickens will start pecking at each other for no reason, until suddenly blood is drawn on one. The all the chickens in the flock turn on the chicken that's bleeding and attack it until there's nothing left but a blood smear and a bunch of feathers.(for those who haven't read it, 5 star book and damn good movie too)
random, individual sniping, use the ignore button or get over it.
When however, people can't have a disagreement without getting personal or when a group gangs up on one person and attacks them personally, I'm just not sure it's needed or even healthy.
Anyway, I'm not looking to set myself up as holier than thou or criticise people for the sake of it, I just thought I'd raise the issue and see where it went. If it goes nowhere, I'll still wake up in the morning and check this site out.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
