No, I know... it's horrible, isn't it? Sorry to hear about your aunty, Danni...
I wasn't at my cousin's funeral because for the last few years she's lived in Qld, but the times I went up there she seemed pretty happy. We were pretty close as kids but lost touch there for a while. I wished I'd gone up there a couple of years ago when she was starting to go downhill - not that I think I oculd have stopped it, but just to see her again.
Nobody really knows why ppl do these things but having had depression myslf, several times, I can imagine the despair in thinking you'll never come out of it, and never really feel happy again. It's like your in a deep pit and there's no way to claw out. That's how I see it, anyway.

Wow... that would have made me bawl, too! Sorry to hear about your brother Tess, that must have been hell. I wasn't there when my cousin went downhill, obviously, her being in Qld and me down here, but our aunty found her and she's been a mess since. It's something that would stick with you for the rest of your life, finding a loved one dead like that. Especially by their own hand. The weird thing is, I never blamed her. I know sometimes ppl get angry at the person who killed themselves but I never did.

ill get up on stage at the copeland sing this to dale thomas if i get very drunk
I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you
I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you
I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control
So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you
I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you
I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you
I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control
So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

I didn't say I wanted one! I said go to your corners! LOL... or is that inciting something? I'm not sure! I kind of meant it like, go to the naughty step, kind of thing! LOL... I think there's been way too much bitchiness in here over the past few years. *sings* "why can't we be friends, why can't we be friends?"

Hi all
It's been a million years since I was on here. I keep reading all the threads, but never have time to reply but since it's the holidays (don't have to put up with all those goddamn year nines YAY) I can take some time to give a reply.
Interesting reading some of the meaningful lyrics that people love - I've always liked the clever lines in songs, they kinda make you laugh.
For me, my fave will always be Up against the Wall by the Whitlams (I've bolded my favourite song line of all time!)
To think it was going so well
We go out at night, come home and fight like hell
Good fights about big things
You know, just pushing around in the dark
To think I was scared to open the box
New love on the doorstep isn't it funny there's nothing on how it works
Go on, have a look inside
You won't know what you did without it
Well you slept
You met interesting people....and you slept with them
And I'm up against the wall now
Yeah I'm up against the wall
Hotel room, a silent phone
A packet of fags, a bottle of wine, a suitcase you call your own
When the darkness comes from the inside out and
Even the barmen are pr!cks
Vitriol, the cigarettes
A long night of thinking in the search for the best vignettes
Yeah well it was good wasn't it
Then it got bad
Some say love it only comes once in a lifetime
Well once is enough for me
She was one in a million
So there's five more just in New South Wales
There's a show on the television now
A man in the jungle with monkeys saying we've come so far
Well that's news to me
I'd better go and evolve now
To think it was going so well
We go out at night, come home and fight like hell
Good fights about big things like
Who wrote the book on men?
Well it was me
And I'm up against the wall now

Collingwood es bueno para siempre

Cool, nutmeg, welcome back! I like some of the Whitlams stuff, especially Blow up the Pokies cos I hate the bloody things! I don't see the point in putting money in a slot for hours on end. Might as well stand over a bin and hold your wallet upside down. The Whitlams write so honestly. Like Ben Lee. I like that about them.
