yeah, this one's kind of a hard one.
On the one hand, he seems like he's putting in some effort calling you four times and remembering to buy you chocolates, and on the other, he's been stringing you along for six years. Sounds like it's time to throw down the gauntlet, so to speak, stop playing games and just ask him straight out, "do you like me?" or "where is this going?" because if you don't, I don't see things changing in your favour. If he says no, he's not ready to commit but he likes your company, then there's your answer. He's not gonna be boyfriend material.

Ok so I need advice ASAP. I got an email from said guy this morning saying "Ok it's obvious you've cracked it with me..? Take it you don't want the chocolates either.."
What should I say? My mum said that I should say "You know where I live if you want to see me". What do you think?

Why don't you just say you haven't cracked it with him, you've just decided you're sick of being strung along, it's obviously going nowhere and you have better things to spend your time and energy on. Tell him he's a good friend blah blah blah, haven't cracked it, just woken up a bit.
Then give him my address for the chocolates
Then give him my address for the chocolates
