"New Zealand have won a second nail-biting Test in a row with an amazing victory over Sri Lanka on the final ball of the match in Christchurch.

After beating England two weeks ago by a solitary run, the Black Caps have held on to record a nail-biting two-wicket win after Kane Williamson stroked a superb century on the final day.

Williamson notched up his 27th Test century in a beautifully controlled innings of 121 not out after the first 4-1/2 hours of play at Hagley Oval had been washed out by rain.

Needing 15 runs off the last three overs with just the tailenders with him, Williamson controlled the strike and kept the runs flowing to get the hosts to their target of 285 with just one ball to spare with the clock passing 7.30pm local time after a rain-delayed start to the day."

No. NZ's win ensured that India would be the second team in the final. Autralia had already qualified.

The greatest batsman of his generation, Kane Williamson, did it again!!

Amazing! Brilliant!

He got help from Mitchell (POTM) and Wagner.

Wagner again at the death! Batting with a torn hamstring. Why was he batting? Who is NZ's #11?! Wow, must be bad if they prefer to send out a guy with a torn hamstring!

NZ won with a scrambled bye off the last ball of the match, with the run out in play at both ends. Miss by the keeper at the striker's end. Hit by the bowler at the non-striker's end. TV review. Kane made it with the dive!

Has any country in Test history won back-to-back Tests in such thrilling fashion? :?:

2/382. Sri Lanka has given up. Williamson is - as he so often does - shooting fish in a barrel against weak opposition.

Now 2/443. How does a road like this get rolled out for a Test? It's an existential threat to cricket.

... and now 3/507. Williamson gave himself up at long on for 215. All he needs, now, is another NZ series at home against Bangladesh.

The only thing I can say is that maybe the NZ egos were massaged by reaching nearly 600 but they have killed any chance of them winning this. If NZ honestly think that they can get SL all out twice on this road, they are delusional. A high scoring draw coming up
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

NZ declared at 4/580, after allowing Nicholls to reach his double-century, as well. On this track, 200s are like a neat 35, really.

Mind you, if you don't move your feet at all and hang the bat outside the off-stump, you'll still snick it - Fernando gone, CB and SL is 1/13.
