Of course we don't want Merrett but Melbourne have expressed some interest so I'm throwing up his name as a possible way we can go from pick 5 to 2.

It would have to be a 3 way deal between us, Brisbane and Melbourne.
It's like you were reading my mind!!! We can do a few things in regards to this if they want Merrett and Lumumba.

If we can't upgrade pick 5 then picks 8 and 15 from GCS are suddenly more appealing or pick 8 and a suitable player.

I would how Hine rates Lonergan?

If we can't get the man we want via low picks, we might be better off taking a chance on a few maybes in the mid-high teens via a swap??

Word on the street is the Lions "might" get the Giants end of first round compo in exchange for Patfull, obviously that pick would become ours along with pick 4 and their original second rounder.

So picks 4-20-23 for Beams.

Another second rounder Harry.

In turn giving us picks 4-20-21-23-27

We trade pick 20 for Greenwood.

We trade picks 21 and 23 for a midish first rounder.

The club would be well aware that the 4 players they asked for would not be handed over.

I suspect a realistic option may become evident in the next day or two.

I'd be happy with pick 4 & Rich and then push for the steak knives, swap 2nd round picks with Brisbane.

I like. 4, Moore, Greenwood, 12 (or so) 27 in for Pies = Beams, Lumumba out. Make it happen Defender

Do you guys read... pick 4 is not on the table anymore, the 'bears' only have pick 5 due to Melbourne's compo pick

it was always going to be that way. nominally pick 4 until the compo pick was confirmed.

Yep, players can't be traded within 12 months of signing a contract, also pretty sure ND picks aren't allowed to be traded until the completion of their second year, I'm not 100% sure but I thought that rule was brought in to help the expansion teams hold onto draftees, if that rule is still in place Aish cannot be traded.

Quoted the wrong post BTW.

I'd be surprised if they get pick 20 for a bloke turning 30 in December unless an exchange of other picks is involved.

He's two years older than H.

You can't but nothing against 3 or more clubs being involved in trades.

Beams stalemate over, says Caro

Post by Neil Appleby »

On 3AW a few minutes ago, Caroline Wilson said Collingwood had every right to be holding out and would not accept just a draft pick. She went on to say that Collingwood will do a deal and that she believed a deal would be announced tomorrow. She refused to say more because it was another journalist's story.

Let the speculation begin.
After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!
Collingwood rules the world again and Mick Malthouse fulfils his destiny with the twenty ten premiership and can you hear the people sing!
