That's okay in theory, but if we tried that, cue maggots: "not 15 - play on..."Monco Matt wrote:By tempo I'm not referring to chipping sideways and backwards for a couple of minutes, but to hold the ball for 10 seconds and chip it forward 15m and hold the ball again, then chip it forward another 15m and hold the ball, like the hawks do so well. Just keep it moving forward but hold on to it, don't just blast away all the time and haphazardly keep turning it over. Just be smarter at times.piedys wrote:Matt, in relation to tempo control - surely that would only manifest in more kicking backwards, which we did to excess earlier in the season and ultimately we just bled and bled turnovers and goals?...

How good was Wells though? This guy was amazing today. When he has the ball I feel pretty good about what could happen. He is silk. 6-1-1 with him playing. I hope he goes on for another 5 years like that evergreen gun S. Burgoyne, he destroyed Sydney friday night.
Best game so far from Scharenberg, looked more confident with ball in hand. Blair was pretty good until he gave away that free late in the game. But I thought he was ok. this was one of his better games, kicked a massive goal in the last which got me off my seat.

Would I have view a draw against the top team in the competition on Friday the answer I'd: YES,
What are my thoughts on us going 50 Points uP in the 3rd quater. I view it as anything is possible in AFL. That said they played the game with confidence and relied on natural skill to get that far ahead. I was estatic. With the positive start in the 3rd quarter I thought we could hold our own and get an unexpected win
What are my thoughts. On being 50 points up and ending up with a draw. We imploded. We lost our confidence and they were harder at the ball than us. Poor decision making, poor field kicking and goal kicking cost us the game. Maynard and Faz. What were you thinking.
At the end I am very disappointed to not have won after being so far ahead but at the end a draw is a reasonable outcome overall.

I fkn hate Sunday games. Son rocked up just before 3/4 time and I spent the last quarter chasing a toddler around the house to stop him breaking shit rather than watching the game.
Having said that, some of you need to either get a grip on reality or loosen the grip on your private parts.
The Crows are/were on top of the ladder, they're a good team. We're in the bottom half. They were always going to come back hard, the fact we hung on for a draw that they only got with a kick after the siren is a positive.
reality is a bitch. So is my ex wife but that's a different story.

Yes Damo, the first half was some of the best, most direct footy we've played all season. What a shame to see it wasted like that.Damien wrote:I'm just saddened by some of the drivel on this site.
We played some awesome footy today. We're missing finals cos we ain't quite there yet, but gee we're mighty close.
But I ask you this: Would you really be taking this whole loss/draw thing so well at the moment, if it had just cost us a spot in the eight?
There are no real consequences for today's result; the tragedy is that missing the eight was already determined in June; half way through the season.
People please; never allow yourself to be conditioned to losing or mediocrity.
There are always reasons for these said conditions occurring; don't be afraid to suggest resolutions for them! No sugar coating required!!

Spot on mate, 50 points is a handy lead, but in todays fast flowing footy, its not nearly as big as it was thirty years ago, say. I also KNEW Adelaide would hit back hard, they are too good a side, top of the Heap, they are there for a REASON. I will take a draw over a one point loss any friggin day of the week, anytime, v the flag favourites, And, that's bout my last word on the matter, I'm relieved we got the draw, and I move on to next week.stui magpie wrote:I fkn hate Sunday games. Cloke had a mature body by age 21. Moore is still growing into his body. I thought Moore was fantastic today but he needs help. He can't do it all on his own.eddiesmith wrote:Clokey had already won a Copeland by Moores age, Darcy we encourage by getting excited every game he kicks 1 goal!ANNODAM wrote:eddiesmith wrote:Imagine the hate and vitrol Clokey would have copped if he missed a crucial goal late like Moore did....Instead we are happy with his brilliant 1 goal game again!
Oh FFS, Moore is just a kid.
Cloke has had years of footy & experience behind him.
Give the kid a break!

One could argue it was Moore's best game for the club today, his leading up the field in the first half in particular was Cloke-like. Despite a limited return on the scoreboard for his efforts.BucksIsFutureCoach wrote:Cloke had a mature body by age 21. Moore is still growing into his body.
