'Galbally claimed he wrote a letter to the Pies board in late June outlining his concerns and attached a $1000 cheque to cover the club’s costs.
He told The Age he wanted the club to provide a list of all voting members so he could express concerns to them about the Magpies’ governance and “seeking a change to the existing board”.
Galbally also told the Herald Sun Collingwood is “thumbing its nose at the democratic rights of members to decide on the composition of the board”, adding: “The more the club obfuscates and puts up roadblocks the more I am convinced the whole board must go.”'

I’m sick of the board infighting and I’m not even sure that my membership entitles me to a vote at the forthcoming AGM. Both of these I squarely aim at Eddie McGuire who stayed too long as the Collingwood president. We praise the good things he did but it’s time to acknowledge that even a great president like Eddie has his failings. What really angers me is that Jeff Browne thinks it’s his right to stop the club searching for a coach until we have the EGM he wants. Well I say stuff him. We go to the AGM in December where Browne has ample opportunity to contest three board positions where he either puts up or shuts up.
What do you get by being on the board? It’s unpaid right? Apart from the business deals on the side, and whatever else slides under the table. We know why Dr McBulldog is there, not for Collingwood but to further her own career. So if they’re not invested in the club as members are, why do they care so much about keeping their positions?

Money is not the only motivator humans have. Love, ego, power, pain avoidance, personal growth, etc are all valid reasons why we do things that we don't necessarily get paid for. They all love the club and all have varying egos.Mr Miyagi wrote:What do you get by being on the board? It’s unpaid right? The problem is that none of these guys are used to losing. They all have some form of legal background too which means that trying to win arguments is in their DNA.

Wasn’t the ‘supporters’ that called for the egm?MatthewBoydFanClub wrote:I’m sick of the board infighting and I’m not even sure that my membership entitles me to a vote at the forthcoming AGM. Wasn’t the ‘supporters’ who started getting signatures?
Wasn’t it the ‘supporters’ who wanted a vote/say because supposedly they hadn’t had one in 20 yrs?
Not all love the club though, mate. Dr McDonnell for example, if she wasn’t getting what she wanted, she’d be at another club if they could offer it to her. Her whole appointment smacks of cronyism (as well as the $15m bonus for diversity quotas) and sums up why we’re up shit creekPebbles Rocks wrote:Money is not the only motivator humans have. Some people might be there because they want to run the club. For most though I'm sure it's just a boy's club thing, they sit on boards because it's their right to sit on boards, their parents sat on boards, and they're of that class of person who sit on boards.Mr Miyagi wrote:What do you get by being on the board? Anyway once you get a bit of power you're never going to give it up without a fight.

Yeah and the supporter who arranged it all met with the board and was happy that the board has brought forward the AGM to December and opened up three board positions for re-election.scoobydoo wrote:Wasn’t the ‘supporters’ that called for the egm?MatthewBoydFanClub wrote:I’m sick of the board infighting and I’m not even sure that my membership entitles me to a vote at the forthcoming AGM.
