According to Sam Edmund, Ollie is set to nominate the cats as his preferred club.

If he is, he isn't more likely to play in Geelong's seniors IMO. Quite confused on Ollie's thinking with that perspective. Geelong have been pretty prudent on the way they manage their salary cap., so he wouldn't be offered overs to go there.
So I wonder if we have lowballed or provided a number that he/management think that can be easily bettered elsewhere and to even use as a benchmark in their negotiations with Collingwood.

Dockers making an offer apparently.

Agree with most here. He's got talent and ideally you'd like to keep him, but it's his first contract negotiation and he's playing hardball already.
If he wants to go you cut your losses and get what you can. If I were him I'd be eying off WHE's spot in the side. Gotta work for it though

I don’t think we will see him play for Collingwood next year. Goneski. Feels more and more like the club made a quiet statement by dropping him a couple months ago.
And is Ollie seriously worried McStay will keep him out of the side?

Good Bye Ollie!
You didn't get much love from Collingwood.

If the rumours are true, then that's really disappointing.
Though the writing has been on the wall for a while with no contract extension despite an offer from the club.

Disappointing yes. But he also seems to want to go play with his brother. Much like Anthony Rocca did all those years ago. Geelong were keen on him in his draft year...we got in ahead of them.
Wish him all the best. He has potential..but he also has to beware that he has much to work on.

Reading the article from SEN, it is purely speculation from their journo that Ollie Henry will request a trade. This is not the same thing as Henry requesting a trade....
There have been a number of players in the past who have requested a trade and then remained with their original club:
Wayne Campbell wanted out of Richmond and go to North- didn't happen.
Ryan O'Keefe wanted out of Sydeny and be traded to Carlton- didn't happen.
Papley wanted out of Sydney and transferred to Carlton- didn't happen.
Dunkley wanted out of Bulldogs and trade to Essendon- didn't happen.
The list goes on and on and on...
Stay Ollie and become a Collingwood premiership hero either this year or the next.

Of course, Henry could go the way of Nick Davis and bail on a club that has given him his opportunity at the elite level....
Such is life

Read this from Piesource on Twitter:
Recent Tweet from PieSource
Ollie Henry was asked by the coaches to improve on his ground work and competitiveness.
Instead of knuckling down. He sulked.
Regardless of his “ability” or “potential”.
These types you have weed out. Pies will be compensated.
Credibility of Piesource not proven, but he has in the recent past been correct with his info.

At the moment I can’t think of who he could replace in the current team, barring injuries. However be it Grundy, Henry or anyone else, to me the important thing is who or what draft picks we get back. If it’s a fair exchange, then I’ll happily let those who don’t wish to play at Collingwood go anywhere they want. It’s their loss, especially in the current club circumstances.
