The great man Pendles captains the club for the 200th time v Port.

Billy will play his 150th game v Melbourne.

Checkers will play his 100th & Darcy Cameron his 50th game in the last round v the filth.

Madgen needs 1 more to reach 50, Crisp is 7 games away from 200, Cox needs 13 for his 100th, Sidey has 18 games until his 300th, Adams 19 away from his 200th & JDG 19 from 150th.

In my dream journal I'm pencilling in Pendles to be holding a Norm Smith and Premiership medal at the end of his 400th. The maths will be pretty close.

He'll obviously have his hands on Nick Daicos's Norm Smith medal.

Only it could well be this year. 8)

So why do people even entertain this idea that he will step out of this role?

Best by far. Just a shame he never got a Brownlow.

Still, he's in illustrious company, including Matthews, Carey, Ablett Snr, and Daicos, never to get a Charlie.

He sure has been the quintessential captain for the Pies this season, as we surely needed a leader with great experience, poise and sublime skill.
I have a feeling he would be really chuffed with this award

Fantastic :)

Makes a total mockery of me saying he probably should have given up the captaincy at the end of last year to pave the way for a new era under Fly.

I now rate him as our best ever player and our 2nd best captain. There's an argument that he's our best ever captain, based on the consistency and length of his reign as captain, however, to my mind Tuddy was our greatest captain because of his ferocity, courage, toughness and tenacity. Then again, they were from two different eras, so maybe it's wrong to compare them. Maybe I'd best just say that Tuddy and Pendles are our two greatest captains. Both legends.
