Ink, they are in far better shape than us. Look at the run home dude. It's depressing.

Yet another ex-Collingwood assistant coach to fail (along with Mark Neeld). If they stick with him though he may do a Bluey McKenna.
It is quite unbelievable that the two clubs who featured in those amazing 2010 grand finals have had the bottom fall out of their clubs. Meanwhile the other sides that have won flags in the last 7 years continue to fire up and threaten again this year.

Where did Geelong finish last year? How many finals did they win? Did the Hawks make the finals in 09 after winning the premiership in 08?
****, you have a short memory.

No I don't.
2007 - Geelong
2008 - Hawthorn
2009 - Geelong
2010 - Collingwood
2011 - Geelong
2012 - Sydney
2013 - Hawthorn, Sydney or Geelong (take your pick).
When you know Sydney also won the 2005 flag, which is the odd team out in this list?

I wouldn't be using Geelong to support an argument to suggest we're going alright.

The Hawks choked in the 2011 PF, choked in last years GF, and could well choke again. They are looking great,as they did last year too.

PnC...saying the Hawks choked in 2011 is an insult to us. I thought we played out guts out that night, and Hawks played just as tough.
I recall that game being a real WOW game.

On that list? Geelong is the odd one out. You can't expect a flag every two years under any circumstances, it is a massive achievement and credit to them for it.
If we can bottom out while still making finals, I'll take that.

I dunno - how did the Swans go in 2007-08-09-10-11? Did they get KNOCKED THE F%#K OUT of the finals race by US with monotonous regularity? Or did they not even feature in the finals in some of those years?
Where were the Hawks in 2010? As I remember it the Cats, Saints and Pies were competing for the flag, while the Hawks were
under-achieving
Who has won a flag more recently out of Pies and Hawks?
Who has
coughed one up most recently?
Go away, Trollie McTrollson

Geelong is the exception to the rule. They've been a phenomenal side since 2007, and arguably they've had a great list since 2004, but they underachieved in 2005 and 2006. They did really well between 2007-2011, and went through a mini-rebuild phase in 2012. In 2013, they've improved again. There 2012 season reminds me of Collingwood's 2013 season to be honest.
Hawthorn - They somehow won the unwinnable flag in 2008. In 2009, they didn't reach the finals after a massive Grand Final 'hangover'. Hawthorn were really poor at the start of 2010 and recovered in the second half of the year but were knocked out in the first week of the finals in 2010 against Freo. In 2011, they improved but couldn't get ahead of Collingwood or Geelong. They almost beat us in the prelim but to be honest we deserved the GF spot more than they did that year. In 2012 they wasted a massive opportunity to win a flag. This year they're well on there way to winning another flag but they could easily lose to Sydney and Geelong as well.
Collingwood - We've made the finals since 2006. We won the Grand Final in 2010 and proved in 2011 that our victory in 2010 was no fluke as we made another Grand Final. We declined a bit in 2012 and are declining a little more in 2013, but that's not to say that we won't improve in 2014 and 2015 for example. Too soon to write us off for the future. For 2013 maybe, but definitely not next year.
Sydney - Won the flag in 2005 and almost went back to back in 2006. Knocked out against us in the first week of the finals in 2007, made the semis in 2008, didn't even make the finals in 2009 which was rare, they made the semis again in 2010 and 2011 and improved dramatically in 2012 to win the flag.
What I'm trying to say Jack is that every team has a patch where they've struggled since they've won a flag. Collingwood is no different to this pattern.

Did anyone see the documentary - "Richmond the Lost Years" that was on Fox Footy last night?
I was absolutely shocked and stunned at how many good coaches and players that crazy place sacked, moved on or retired.
And the trash the place brigade is already demanding we do the same at Collingwood.
Sack a Premiership coach? Well we've already done that. Sack his golden boy replacement after a crap year? We could...
Clear our best players to other clubs because they didn't get on with the coach...we did that in 1978 and 1982 and that REALLY turned out well.
Hang in there guys. If anyone should have won multiple premierships with the talent they had it was Richmond in the '80s. But if you trash the place, you have got to rebuild...and that takes a loooong time...

Not how I remember it, I thought we were bloody lucky, and did the same we had all season, just expected to change gear at the end. They choked in the last quarter, they should have run it out, no question.
