AFL, the only sport to change its rules during a season.
How many years of Selwood? Thats ok. What have we had, 4 months of Ginnivan? Rule change. And now he is getting a Darwin Coat-hanger and thats ok too. If that was any other player in the comp, it would be a free.
And if it were Selwood... sheesh, Chris Scott would be well upset. But this is Collingwood. Sorry Ginni, you might get the free after receiving the John Greening treatment.

The treatment of Jack Ginnivan, a 19 year old kid, by the media and by the AFL is appalling. Once again, we see a criminal and inhuman media conjuring up a nightmare environment for one of our players. Jack Ginnivan has been engulfed by media driven hysteria because he lowers his centre of gravity in a tackle (as several other AFL players do) and because he has the audacity to celebrate goals and victories in an uninhibited and joyful manner. And the AFL has clearly capitulated to this media frenzy, ordering its umpires to avoid giving any free kicks to Jack Ginnivan. The sight of seeing the young kid half strangled by an Essendon thug, and not be given any protection from the umpires, enraged me and disgusted me.
I am seriously scared that this kid will get seriously injured, or will decide to give up any thought an AFL career because of the failure of the AFL to exercise any duty of care. Not only has the AFL failed to exercise duty of care, it has been a willing accomplice in the media hysteria.
I am so glad that the Club is publicly taking a stand. It is about time. I am hoping that the pressure we can exert on the AFL and its cowardly band of umpires will result in a fairer playing field for Jack Ginnivan.

The AFL have said the tackle on Ginni should have been a free kick

Good on Coxy, nice spray to the AFL.
https://twitter.com/masonsixtencox/stat ... 1233551360Wild to think high tackles were put in the game to protect players health and now are being blatantly ignored for a 19 year old. How can we think “the AFL cares about concussions and head high contact” after this.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
Won’t last long, he’s an Aussie now so should become compliant pretty soon.stui magpie wrote:Good on Coxy, nice spray to the AFL.

Advice for Jack … go back to Black !
Is it just me but since Jack went blonde he’s getting less free kicks ?
Maybe something in it from an umpire subconscious thing ?
Either way he’s been treated more harshly and as a blonde he’s definitely not having more fun or getting any love from the umps.
So Jack… go back to black , what have you got to lose ? Apart from your head which every week someone is trying to knock off.
